Achievable exam preparation (https://achievable.me) seeks a passionate and detail-oriented full-time Marketing Coordinator to join our dynamic team. As our first marketing hire, your mission will be to help Achievable reach more target customers in its existing markets, reinforce our brand as trustworthy and approachable, and assist in launching over a dozen new test preparation courses. This is an opportunity to learn about all aspects of startup marketing and how to manage multiple complex marketing projects simultaneously. This role offers significant mentorship and strong career growth potential within Achievable. You will work with and report to our CEO, Tyler York.

Key Responsibilities

  • Marketing content production: Manage Achievable’s existing content marketing production processes, including blog posts, social media posts, podcasts, videos, website content, and resources that provide value for potential customers.
  • SEO: Work closely with the founders to improve our search engine rankings, both for the entire site and for individual high-value pages, using data-driven SEO tactics.
  • Paid advertising: Optimize and expand Achievable’s paid advertising campaigns on our current and new ad networks, including creative production.
  • Affiliates and partnerships: Create, research, and execute affiliate marketing and partnership campaigns that drive sales of Achievable’s courses and reinforce our brand as trustworthy in the marketplace.
  • Market research and strategy: Determine the best positioning, channels, and strategy for Achievable to approach each new course market and put those findings into action.
  • Project management: Contribute to complex marketing campaigns, including the launch of over a dozen new Achievable courses. This includes working with Achievable’s engineering, course content, research teams, and other contractors.
  • New initiatives: Depending on what we decide to do together, you could also work on influencer marketing, campus ambassadors, conferences, and more.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience in creating long-form and short-form written content, especially in education or professional development. Experience creating video or image content is a plus.
  • Experience in managing and being responsible for other’s work, whether that be in a job or a class project
  • Exceptional writing and editorial prowess with a keen eye for detail.
  • An understanding of AI writing, including when/how to use it and (more importantly) when not to use it.
  • Proficiency in researching and understanding complex topics. This is crucial for understanding an exam and its market quickly.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A customer-first mindset
  • A Bachelor’s degree in English, Communication, Marketing, or a related field is recommended.
  • Candidates with strong English skills are encouraged to apply, regardless of location.

About us

Achievable is a small venture-backed education technology startup. Our mission is to help our customers unlock opportunities in their lives by preparing them for the high-stakes exams that stand between them and their dream college, graduate program, career, or certification.

  • We are laid back and easy going, but work hard. We're a small team of five with tons to do and big improvements to be made. This role will require 40 hours a week of dedicated work.
  • We believe that done is better than perfect. As a startup, speed is our primary advantage over entrenched incumbents. That said, it’s important to maintain a high level of professionalism in all of our work, especially customer-facing materials. Striking this balance is key to success in this role, and we will teach you how to do that.
  • We respect everyone’s opinion regardless of seniority or background - the only goal is to come away with the best possible ideas that will make the business successful.
  • We are respectful of everyone else’s time in the organization. Before asking others for help with something minor, we use Google to try to figure it out.
  • We are and will always be a fully remote company. Outside of making key meetings, which are almost always in US timezones, we do not care when you work as long as you complete your commitments on time and do so in a high-quality, professional way.
  • No work is sacred or too good to change. If you see something and want to improve it, we encourage you to do so.
  • We respect commitments and communicate proactively if problems arise or deadlines will slip. If we are overloaded or fall behind, we speak up proactively and with as much notice as possible.
  • We primarily use email or Slack, as communication with those platforms is asynchronous and fast. That said, we’re happy to hop on voice chat or video chat / screen share if the project or conversation requires it.
  • We believe transparency leads to the best outcomes, so we share all relevant information with all parties. To this end, we use online tools with shared access whenever possible, such as Google Docs.
  • We offer substantial paid time off and respect commitments outside of work. We want our employees to live fulfilling lives and respect work-life balance. We do not expect you to be responsive outside of work hours unless it is for a special project or deadline, which is rare.

Benefits Package

  • A competitive salary with room to grow:
    • Range: $50,000 - $60,000
  • For US employees: Comprehensive healthcare reimbursement, inclusive of spouse/family plans.
    • QSEHRA reimbursement up to $529.16 (individual) or $1,066.66 (family) per month
  • Considerable paid time off coupled with recognized company holidays:
    • About six weeks (28 days) of paid time off per year
  • The liberty to work fully remotely forever, with flexible hours so long as you can make key meetings and collaborate effectively.
  • Opportunities for professional growth, including a $1,000/year educational allowance.

Achievable invites you to bring your unique expertise to our team. If the Marketing Coordinator role is a good fit, we look forward to hearing from you.
