This includes a variety of websites like hashicorp.com, developer.hashicorp.com, and more. For many of HashiCorp’s customers and users, the Web Presence team delivers their first experience with the company so it’s crucial we set high standards.

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager who is passionate about enabling users and the developer experience, growing and mentoring their team, and delivering valuable business results.

We want someone who cares about their team members and communicates with humility, curiosity, and kindness. Someone who is comfortable and experienced working with other teams, including design, product managers, and technical writers. Someone who understands the importance of documentation and enjoys leading large-scale projects with ambiguity.

If you have a strong background in full-stack web development, strive for visual and technical consistency, and advocate for data-driven decisions, we want to talk with you.

  • Drive architectural and platform-level decisions with best practices in mind through thoughtful technical leadership.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other product teams at HashiCorp to ensure seamless integration of customer-facing features.
  • Implement and optimize development processes to enhance efficiency, collaboration, and quality. Identify and address bottlenecks and technical challenges.
  • Ensure the team adheres to coding standards, conducts code reviews, and follows best practices for testing and deployment.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and opportunities to stakeholders such as Product Manager, Education Engineers, and various Product teams. Ensure transparency and alignment with business goals.

What you’ll need (basic qualifications)

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in web development and at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Experience developing a vision and technical strategy that aligns the team’s efforts with business objectives and sets the team up for long-term success.
  • End-to-end experience leading and owning large, multi-stakeholder web projects.
  • Proficiency in web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Node.js and relevant frameworks.
  • Familiarity with Vercel, Next.js, and TypeScript
  • Comfortable with AWS, Docker, and troubleshooting GitHub Actions.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Previous experience working in a remote environment with a clear understanding of how to manage up and across.
