The Manager, Technical Content is responsible for developing, managing, and optimizing standards and processes to enable developing technical content at scale to support Apex's goals and objectives . This role involves working closely with technical writing staff, subject matter experts, content creators, and various stakeholders to ensure competitive, quality, accurate and effective communication of technical information in the right voice with maximum impact. As Manager, Technical Content, you oversee the work, standards, and processes for a team of technical writers producing technical product content,and support/knowledge base content for a fintech client audience. You will create, maintain , and synchronize content governance and strategy. You will be responsible for providing strategic direction, hiring great content writers, and mentor / managing team members to deliver great content in a singular voice.
Duties/Responsibilities

  • Lead Apex' Technical Content team and be accountable for the timely and successful delivery of content and channels in your portfolio that enable Apex to operate with higher client satisfaction, support efficiency, and a competitive edge.
  • Partner closely with peers, leaders, and stakeholders to build and drive the strategic vision for Apex's content strategy and delivery . Ensure Apex's content standards and delivery channels are ready to meet current and future business needs and target audiences.
  • Hire, coach, develop, and guide Individual Contributor Content Writers . Create and maintain internal documentation and guidelines for content creation, ensuring Apex's content has a singular voice with competitive clarity, quality, and efficiency across the organization.
  • Develop and sustain strong, collaborative working relationships with other departments across Apex to build trust and institutionalized understanding.
  • Create and edit technical content, including documentation, user guides, and other materials . Oversee the organization and maintenance of technical content repositories, content management systems (CMS), or knowledge bases to ensure accessibility and version control.
  • Review and proofread technical content to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to style guidelines, industry standards, and best practices . Monitor the performance of technical content using analytics tools, track KPIs, and make data-driven improvements to Apex's content strategy.
  • Conduct audience research to understand the target audience's needs, preferences, and pain points, tailoring content accordingly.
  • Keep up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in technical content creation and management . Educate and guide Apex toward investments that improve its competitive edge.
  • Have a bias for action to tackle ambiguity and deliver clarity whether rolling up your sleeves on a project or resolving conflicts and driving an accountable culture with your team through 'in the moment' feedback.
  • Support continuous learning within the team, giving Content Writers opportunities to grow their skills and meet their career aspirations. Generate energy to motivate the team throughout the year.
  • Champion an inclusive and diverse environment where people are excited to do their best work and their ideas are actively sought after. Model our values and leadership principles, coach others to give them the tools to grow, and demonstrate caring and empathy.


Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in English, technical communication, computer science, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of technical writing / editorial / content management experience or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of experience in a management or supervisory role.
  • Experience working with business stakeholders, senior leaders, and clients within a large organization
  • Experience with financial industries and B2B fintech platforms preferred


Required Skills/Abilities

  • Ability to understand complex technical concepts and present them clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, agile environment.
  • Familiarity with API, product, and other technical documentation and its unique challenges.
  • Familiarity with documentation tools like e.g., Confluence, Read the Docs, Sphinx
  • Strong command of the English language and impeccable attention to detail.


Work Envrionment

  • This job operates in an office environment.
  • Position requires 10%+ time for travel. ( We're a distributed company.)
