Business Overview

Novanta’s Corporate and Shared Services teams play an important role in executing the company’s strategic mission and operations. Included in Corporate and Shared Services are the business functions including Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, Information Technology, Legal, Compliance, Corporate Development and Corporate Marketing. The Corporate and Shared Services teams work closely with all Novanta business units to support operating initiatives contributing to the organization’s financial success.

Position Details

As an M&A (Mergers & Acquisitions) Program Manager for IT, you will be responsible for managing complex technology programs and ensuring successful delivery. Your main purpose will be to support and execute integration project plans for recently acquired companies. Your role includes management of budgets and coordination across various groups in Novanta to support acquisition efforts. Your leadership skills and experience in IT project management will drive the success of critical initiatives, while maintaining high standards of quality and customer satisfaction. Your background in Program Management Office’s will contribute to the development and maturation of the IT PMO M&A playbook.  

Primary Responsibilities

  • Managing cross-functional teams to deliver IT integration programs on time and within budget.
  • Implementing integration plans and budgets that align with the organization's goals.
  • Establishing program governance structure and ensuring compliance with relevant policies and regulations.
  • Building solid relationships with business partners and external vendors.
  • Contributing to the development and adoption of PMO tooling and self-service PMO frameworks.
  • Contributing to the maturation and application of an IT M&A playbook for future integrations.

General Tasks

  • Maintain strict compliance with the quality, environmental and occupational health and safety regulations and implementation of the instructions of the quality, environmental management and/or occupational health and safety officer.

Required Experience, Education, Skills, Training and Competencies

  • Have 6- 8 years' experience managing IT M&A integration projects.
  • Be committed to continuous learning and professional development.
  • Possess excellent problem-solving abilities and the capability to think critically.
  • Be able to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Have experience working with cross-functional teams and collaborating with different departments on shared timelines.
  • Have experience with Smartsheet.
  • Possess a high-level of professional judgement and the ability to manage confidential information.
  • Be committed to improving and streamlining processes

Travel Requirements   

  • As needed based on projects

Compensation and Benefits

  • The base pay for this ranges from $115,000-$120,000 depending on the geographic market.
  • Dependent on the position offered, annual bonuses and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of the compensation package.

Physical Requirements

  • Mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer.
  • Ability to use vison to read computer screen and read printed materials.
