Job Description
Join a team located throughout the United States collaborating daily to lead delivery of IT Services to a global enterprise. The Software Release Engineer will be responsible for the Software Release Management program working with a matrixed organization. This role will be responsible for ensuring timely and successful software releases, while minimizing risks and maximizing customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibility:

  • Develop and maintain a release management process that is scalable, repeatable, and measurable, aligned with BAE Systems' software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including development, quality assurance, and operations, to ensure alignment and coordination on release goals and timelines
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with software releases, including testing, deployment, and customer impact
  • Develop and maintain release documentation, including release notes, user guides, and technical documentation, in accordance with BAE Systems' documentation standards
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to gather and prioritize requirements for new features and bug fixes, ensuring alignment with customer needs and business objectives
  • Develop and manage release schedules, including setting deadlines, tracking progress, and communicating status to stakeholders, using tools such as Microsoft Project
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements, including those related to cybersecurity and data protection
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including development teams, product managers, and customers, to ensure effective communication and collaboration
  • Analyze and report on release metrics, including success rates, customer satisfaction, and defect rates, to inform process improvements and optimization
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance release efficiency and effectiveness, leveraging best practices and industry standards


Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in software release management with a strong understanding of software development lifecycles and Agile methodologies
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g. Git and SVN), and continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
  • Strong understanding of industry standards and regulatory requirements, including those related to cybersecurity and data protection, such as GDPR, HIPAA, and CUI
  • Experience with release documentation, including release notes, user guides, and technical documentation
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks, and experience with release management tools

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $94728 - $161038
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
