Overview
The Head of Media Operations will take a leadership role in developing internal and external facing 'ways of working' to enable greater efficiency and effectiveness of the media team. This is a highly critical role that will take ownership of the foundational underpinnings of General Motors' media operations at all levels. Emphasis will be on leading a team working cross-functionally and across tiers to identify and scale solutions in a timely manner to enable growth and success for General Motors' media practices. The person will play a key role in setting the approach for how the brand, channel, and media services teams operate holistically. This includes working very closely with internal data, analytics, and audience teams to continually refine GM's audience and media tech strategy. The Head of Media Operations will coordinate processes with external agencies and other internal partners to ensure external alignment. This person will lead the organization of complex projects and direct related work streams for the entire media team. The ideal candidate will have experience leading media operations at an agency or advertiser and will have demonstrated experience in building complex processes and new ways of working.
Major Responsibilities:

  • Provide cross-functional support as the 'connective tissue' across Media and Channel teams


  • Lead development of new 'ways of working' processes that enable nimble and effective media strategy and activation across the organization


  • Lead team responsible for developing GM's audience-based media approach


  • Own the roadmap for GM's media tech and platform strategy, and lead the team responsible for its implementation and upkeep


  • Oversee the development and implementation of the GM Connect media management platform


  • Enable deployment of new and existing Media team activities and track and manage through completion.


  • Lead point of contact within the Media Services organization for GM's media agencies for operational matters


  • Working with Global Media Services, scale solutions and processes to media teams globally


  • Develop and define key roles and responsibilities across the media team and with other internal and external stakeholders


  • Assist with the implementation and upkeep of GM-owned media tools and platforms


  • Follow and track GM's internal process for the business unit (Information lifecycle management, business control processes and record retention)


  • Oversee project management for large, complex projects across the media organization


Additional Description
Skills / Knowledge / Experience

  • 10+ years' experience in paid media; agency and/or advertiser experience in either area preferred


  • Ability to track and manage large, complex initiatives requiring the input of multiple stakeholders


  • Ability to listen to and understand fully the needs of internal and external stakeholders and in turn develop thoughtful solutions


  • Demonstrated experience leading the onboarding, implementation, and upkeep of media and marketing tech platforms and tools


  • Demonstrated direct team leadership experience, and experience leading indirect teams through influence


Compensation: The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of New York, Colorado, California, or Washington.

  • The salary range for this role is ($165,100-$252,900). The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
  • Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
