Global Partner Incentives & Rewards and CMS Partner Program Mgmt

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Business Consultant and Manager to join our Global Partner Organization (GPO) and lead the development of new incentives and rewards for our channel partners and managed service providers.  The successful candidate for this role will work closely with our Ciena Partner Network Ecosystem (CPNe) partners, regional partner sales, and Ciena finance & operations teams to develop innovative incentives aligned to the business drivers of Ciena and our partners. They will also be responsible to evolve Ciena’s Carrier Managed Service program for our managed service partners to ensure we have a comprehensive set of features to enable, support and reward our CMS partners to launch & monetize new service offerings.

How You Will Contribute: 

Reporting to the Director of Global Partner Programs & Strategy, you will be responsible to evolve and develop new incentives and rewards for channel partners and managed service providers to drive more engagement and mindshare with our partners.  The role also needs to develop business models to clearly illustrate the benefits and business impact for partners. As an experienced member of the team, you will be expected to provide direction and oversight to business analysts on the information and data needed to ensure that there is transparency and visibility to the return on investment of the incentives and rewards.   Finally, you will also be responsible for supporting and evolving Ciena’s partner program for our Carrier Managed Service partners.

The Must Haves:

  • Incentive and Reward Development: Design and implement innovative incentive and reward programs to drive engagement and mindshare with partner organizations and their sales teams.

  • Business Model Development: Create and refine business models that clearly illustrate the benefits of the incentives for partners, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.

  • Align Rewards & Achievement:  Establish & define escalating program benefits aligned to incremental program achievement.

  • Awards & Recognition: Develop an awards & recognition program to increase program value for CPNe member partners.

  • Oversight and Direction: Provide strategic direction and oversight to business analysts, ensuring transparency and visibility in the return on investment (ROI) of the incentives and rewards.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure the successful implementation of incentive programs.

  • Performance Analysis: Monitor and analyze the performance of incentive programs, making data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement.

  • Market Research: Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends and best practices in incentive and reward programs.

  • Project Management: Prioritize and manage initiatives and deliverables to evolve and enhance program offerings for Ciena’s CMS partners.

Assets:

  • Bachelor's degree in Science/Engineering or a related field; MBA preferred.

  • At least 8 years’ experience building technology industry partner programs or a similar role.

  • Strong understanding of channel partner and managed service provider ecosystems that drive business value today and are adaptable for the future.

  • Experience evolving business processes and using systems and tools to improve experience and reduce friction for internal and external users.

  • Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement successful incentive programs.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.

  • Exceptional synthesis, communication and interpersonal skills with proven experience driving effective coordination amongst internal stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in data analysis and performance metrics along with demonstrated expertise in telling the story & conveying business impact to executives & business leaders.

  • Experience developing business models to illustrate program benefits and investment performance

  • Experience designing, planning and executing change management for internal and external stakeholders.

Pay Range: $115,500 - $184,500 USD

Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Please note that the pay range information provided in this posting pertains specifically to the primary location, which is the top location listed in case multiple locations are available.

Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission. In addition to competitive compensation, Ciena offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision plans, participation in 401(K) (USA) & DCPP (Canada) with company matching, Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP), Employee Assistance Program (EAP), company-paid holidays, paid sick leave, and vacation time.
