About Anedot

We started Anedot in 2010 and now are launching a major payment processing and finance product aimed at empowering organizations through innovation, scalability, and world-class user experiences. This is a greenfield project, offering you the chance to make foundational architectural decisions and have a significant impact on a highly visible and transformative platform. We are a low-meeting and little bureaucracy organization - we don’t have time for that.

Join the team as Frontend Software Architect, where you'll take ownership of the frontend, working closely with our Founder/CEO, engineers, and design team. This is a primarily coding role, requiring extreme ownership and technical excellence to deliver a groundbreaking product.

Responsibilities

  1. Architect Frontend Solutions: Define and implement the technical direction of a greenfield project, serving as the lead architect for the frontend.
  2. Build Scalable Interfaces: Develop and maintain responsive, accessible, and scalable UIs.
  3. Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with the Founder/CEO, engineers, and design team to create seamless, high-quality user experiences.
  4. Integrate Authentication Systems: Leverage AWS Cognito and other AWS services for authentication and user management workflows.
  5. Implement Payment Systems: Develop and integrate major payment systems like Stripe or similar platforms to ensure seamless financial transactions.
  6. Foster Design Consistency: Build and maintain a robust Figma component library integration to ensure consistency across the platform.
  7. Champion Best Practices: Drive Test-Driven Development (TDD), thorough documentation, and high-quality code reviews to maintain high standards.
  8. Ensure Code Quality: Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code that exemplifies best practices and raises the bar for technical quality.
  9. Drive Strategic Decisions: Actively participate in discussions on frontend architecture, data modeling, and API design to align with the project’s vision.
  10. Share Expertise Through Code: Mentor team members and elevate technical capabilities by writing exemplary, production-ready code.

Qualifications

  1. 10+ years of professional experience in JavaScript development, with a strong emphasis on ReactJS with at least 5 years at one company.
  2. Proven experience architecting and leading large-scale frontend projects from inception to deployment.
  3. Strong foundational knowledge in computer science principles, including algorithms, data structures, and system design.
  4. Hands-on experience with AWS Cognito and integrating authentication systems into modern applications.
  5. Proficiency in Figma component libraries and translating designs into high-quality, scalable code.
  6. Significant experience implementing and integrating major payment platforms like Stripe or similar systems.
  7. Deep understanding of RESTful APIs, with the ability to design and consume them effectively.
  8. Firm commitment to Test-Driven Development (TDD) and maintaining high-quality, maintainable codebases.
  9. Demonstrated ability to take extreme ownership of projects while balancing hands-on coding with strategic technical decisions.
  10. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to assert expertise while maintaining a collaborative team environment.

If you are a seasoned frontend engineer who thrives in ownership-driven, fast-paced environments and is passionate about building innovative solutions, we’d love to hear from you!

Apply by submitting filling out this application.

Hiring Process

  1. Complete Application (whether direct or via recruiter)
  2. Pair Programming Interview - be prepared to write code with a shared screen using TDD
  3. One hour video interview with our Founder and CEO. Before this meeting we’ll send an optional Clifton StrengthsFinder access code.

Please note that we’re unable to offer individual feedback during the screening process.
