The opportunity:

We are looking for a Frontend Engineer to join our high performing engineering team that focuses on our award winning and industry leading media and learning products. You will work on an agile, outcomes-driven team and act as a trusted partner to the product owner and agile project manager. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, Frontend you will be developing world-class software that helps hundreds of thousands of learners and educators improve their work life every day.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop high-quality software design and architecture

  • Identify, prioritize, and execute tasks in the software development life cycle

  • Develop tools and applications by producing clean, efficient code

  • Work cross-functionally to drive impact across the SDLC, collaborating with product managers to clarify requirements and break down work, reviewing code written by others, assisting with design for testability, and using data to drive decisions

  • Contribute to the software engineering body of knowledge

  • Ensure software is up to date with the latest technologies

  • Collaborate closely with marketing and other internal teams in solution design, development, and troubleshooting

  • Design innovative approaches that allow users to achieve their learning goals differently

  • Implement content delivery solutions to support teaching and learning across our applications

  • Integrate user survey and promotional tools and work with our marketing team to help drive business outcomes

What you’ll bring:

  • 4+ years of experience as a Software Engineer

  • Proficient in the software development lifecycle and collaborating with marketing and analytics platforms.

  • Skilled in communicating technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  •  Experienced in writing cross-browser HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, including frameworks like React, Angular, and Vue.js.

  • Adept at writing unit tests, using CSS preprocessors, and developing accessible and responsive web pages.

  •  Familiar with front-end tooling, version control systems, CMS integrations, and working with RESTful APIs.

  •  Experience building applications that conform to high standards for security and data privacy

  • Experience working with marketing and analytics platforms

  • Experience developing applications on AWS cloud and good knowledge of various AWS services (e.g., Cloudfront, Lambda@Edge, S3, ECS/ECR)

  • Understanding of internet-based media distribution solutions, video streaming standards and interactive media formats

  • Familiarity with Adobe Target, Analytics, and Tag Manager

You’ll stand out if you have:

  • Experience working with headless content management systems, preferably Contentful

  • Advanced skills developing complex web applications using React

  • Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker)

$110,000K - $125,000K

Above is the annualized pay range for this position. In addition, this position includes the opportunity to earn our annual Performance Based Variable Pay Program. Actual salary will be set based upon a range of factors, including external benchmark market data, individual knowledge, skills, experience, location and internal equity.
