Financial Analyst - Dallas or Houston

About the Job:

Capco is looking for a Finance and Operations Analyst who will provide direct support for the financial activities and critical data analysis for Texas.

The Finance and Operations Analyst helps manage the financial controls and internal reporting needs and focuses on achieving increased profitability for Texas. This individual is also responsible for assisting in analytical support including advanced Excel modelling, KPI reporting and operational process improvement.

What You’ll Get to Do:

  • Perform detailed financial analysis, including forecasting, project costing and variance analysis
  • Develop and maintain complex financial models using advanced Excel functions and techniques
  • Analyze financial data and provide insights to support strategic decision-making
  • Prepare and present financial reports, dashboards, and presentations to senior management
  • Audit data in financial systems to ensure correctness and completeness
  • Conduct cost analysis and identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze financial information
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies
  • Monitor key financial metrics and provide recommendations for improvement
  • Support and liaise with local and global accounting and operations teams
  • Maintain various reports for leadership team and assist with ad hoc reporting to support Texas and global Energy business as needed

What You’ll Bring with You:

  • Advanced level knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word) with advanced proficiency in PowerPoint and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, XLOOKUP, VLOOKUP, macros, SUMIFs, index, match and complex formulas)
  • 5 years of experience with accounting principles and financial statements
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Critical thinking and analysis of data
  • Effective communication and presentation skill
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
