What You'll Do
It's an exciting time at McMaster-Carr with construction underway for a regional headquarters in Ft. Worth. A modern, automated distribution facility and office space will include extensive conveyor systems, an industrial vehicle fleet and the potential for autonomous mobile robots (AMRs).
We are looking for an experienced leader to support the commissioning, start-up and ongoing maintenance of our newest facility. This role will oversee all maintenance activities and critical building systems that ensure high uptime for distribution, sales and finance operations.

  • Collaborating with operational leaders on the design and commissioning of electrical, mechanical, distribution automation and other building systems to ensure long-term return on investment
  • Designing facility maintenance and engineering best practices that align with McMaster-Carr's goals, strategies and operating principles
  • Partnering with cross-functional teams to resolve building system issues and ensure operating teams achieve business and customer service goals
  • Building a world-class facility maintenance team and cultivating a supportive community and culture of development to optimize performance and operational outcomes
  • Analyzing and solving complex technical issues to deliver on reliability and uptime goals that are critical to serving customers
  • Directing the implementation of Building Management Systems

Cash Compensation
Total cash compensation is generally around $260,000 and includes profit sharing based on company profitability.
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Academic background in mechanical or electrical engineering (or equivalent)
  • 5+ years of professional experience in building systems, maintenance and engineering, including critical systems like back-up power, fire protection, and HVAC. Experience with conveyor systems, robotics and automation preferred.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, high uptime, operational environment
  • Proven leadership experience including managing teams and projects simultaneously
  • Excellent communication skills and advanced project management skills
  • Commitment to personal, professional, and team growth
