Tecovas is looking for a Facilities & Maintenance Manager to help ensure that all of our 40+ physical stores remain high functioning for the safety of both employees and customers. From mechanical and electrical troubles, to utilities and equipment repair and everything in between. Reporting to our Project Manager, Retail, you will help us find the best and most sustainable solutions in the shortest amount of time using data to drive thoughtful decision making. You will utilize your proactive problem solving abilities to advocate for the store teams to help mitigate repairs, reduce costs, and minimize business disruptions.

This role is required to be based in Austin, TX. Candidates must either be currently located in or willing to relocate to Austin, TX.

What you’ll do:

  • Ensure facilities and service excellence in our retail store locations, while minimally disrupting day to day business operations 
  • Manage repair and maintenance process, dispatch tickets, approve proposals, regular vendor follow up to ensure jobs are completed in a reasonable time frame
  • Develop facility strategies, programs and processes that will scale and keep our stores up to brand standards
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key partners across multiple markets and functions, such as landlords, vendors, facilities & maintenance systems and security support as needed
  • Lead cross-functional teams to achieve store project objectives            
  • Establish and maintain high standards, policies, and processes throughout the field retail business
  • Review and approve proposals and invoices on a timely and consistent basis
  • Contribute to the Retail Compliance Programs (OSHA, ADA, Local Requirements)
  • Obtain all federal, state, and local permits and approvals
  • Identify and implement sustainability and energy management initiatives throughout our retail locations
  • Conduct annual assessments to identify needed improvements and repairs
  • Manage facilities budget and regulate spend in store
  • Quick response to challenges related to store facilities and operations
  • Perform other duties as needed and assigned by their direct supervisor.

Knowledge Library + Communications

  • Partner cross-functionally to create scalable policies, practices, and guides that support seamless store operations across the above listed areas of responsibility and other areas as identified by their direct supervisor
  • Work directly with the HQ Communications team to design proactive guidelines that enable and encourage high field adoption rate and success through structured change management practices

Experience we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years experience in the retail industry as related to store management and/or store construction, maintenance, and refresh initiatives
  • Proven project management, time management, and organizational skills
  • Retail industry experience, including knowledge of leases, contracts, and maintenance practices
