About the role:

Enterprise IT Leaders (EITL) is an executive-level advisory service that delivers expert insight and guidance tailored to each member's context and most critical initiatives. EITL comprises 7 domains that cover areas within IT: Software Engineering and Applications, Data & Analytics, Enterprise Architecture, Infrastructure & Operations, Program & Portfolio Management, Security & Risk, Sourcing & Vendor Management.

This Executive Partner role lies within the domain of Software Engineering and Applications. Gartner’s Executive Partners, who specialize in one of these domains, equip business leaders with indispensable insights, advice, and tools to achieve their mission-critical priorities today and build the successful organizations of tomorrow.

What you will do:

  • The Executive Partner role is predominantly remote based; however, we travel to delivery moments that matter to our clients’ critical priorities. 
  • The role is client-facing and demands a high level of executive experience and presence.  Building trust and credibility is key to an Executive Partner’s success.
  • You will manage a portfolio of around 30 client members, typically Software Engineering and Enterprise Application leaders, from Fortune 1000 organizations and government agencies.
  • Executive Partners deliver value to our members using your real-world experiences, Gartner research and expert analysis, peer experiences, and Gartner assessment frameworks.  
  • Executive Partners must be highly collaborative. We work closely with internal teammates to plan and synchronize efforts.  Internal teammates often include sales professionals, research analysts, client managers, peers, and service delivery leaders.   
  • Executive Partners are responsible for achieving a high portfolio retention rate, making significant contributions to growth, and demonstrating Gartner values.  

What you will need:

We’d love to talk to you if you have:

  • 15+ years’ total technology experience, including 10+ years as a Senior / Director, Software Engineering Leader for a Fortune 1000 company.
  • Location Preference: East Coast or Central Region
  • Experience in executive-level roles within consulting, sales or other customer facing positions is an advantage.
  • Be prepared to demonstrate your expertise in leading the following enterprise efforts:  
    • Software Engineering Leadership and Continuous Improvement
    • Application Portfolio Management, Strategy, and Integration
    • Application deployment using Modern Architectures & Technologies
    • Build & Deliver Digital products and Experiences
    • ERP Implementation & Strategy
    • Digital Workplace Applications
    • CRM Strategy & Customer Experience

Gartner believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 165,000 USD - 192,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan. Our talent acquisition team will provide the specific opportunity on our bonus or incentive programs to eligible candidates. We also offer market leading benefit programs including generous PTO, a 401k match up to $7,200 per year, the opportunity to purchase company stock at a discount, and more.
