Job Title: Engineering Manager
Location: Santa Barbara, CA or Remote
Job Summary:
We are looking for a dynamic Engineering Manager to continue to develop new applications and systems for the MixMode platform. You will lead a team who is helping chart our AI strategy and define the problems that we are solving with AI in cybersecurity. You will help build our AI development and production infrastructure and set our technical standards. To succeed, this individual must become an expert in building AI models from time-series data and putting those models into production.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and prioritize AI projects of high business impact including both product-related and research projects
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with product owners representing different product lines
- Help define technical direction and architecture of the AI platform
- Oversee the implementation and continuous deployment of the AI platform
- Oversee all engineering activities and projects, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives
- Develop and implement engineering strategies, best practices, and processes
- Coordinate with internal teams, including product sales engineering, and operations
- Monitor and optimize the quality and performance of our models
- Mentor, recruit and grow a world-class team of engineers, data scientists, and team leads
- Continuously learn and apply the latest innovations and best practices in AI and cybersecurity.
- Build a culture of continuous learning, growth, and sharing of technological insights
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience managing one or more engineering teams utilizing Scrum/Agile
- 3+ years of work experience in Machine Learning, AI and Data Science with a proven track record to drive innovation and business impacts
- 3+ years of experience with managing a team of data scientists, ML and AI researchers and engineers creating production ready algorithms
- Strong foundation in statistical platforms such as Python, R, SAS, or MatLab
- Strong programming skills in Object-Oriented and Functional programming styles in languages such as Python, Java, and Scala
- Strong Knowledge of the theory and applications of AI, time series data (e.g.understanding of Koopman operator theory), data science, unstructured data analytics, supervised/unsupervised learning
- Demonstrated commitment to learning about AI through your own initiatives through courses, books, or side projects
- Experience in data visualization solutions and data visualization tools is a plus
We are open to hiring great talent who may have qualifications above or below those specifically listed in this job description. Pursuant to California law, we must display the pay range for this job. Since we are willing to hire within a broad spectrum of qualifications, we also reflect a broad pay range. The salary range that we are targeting for this position is $180,000-$250,000 though we can adjust based on individual qualifications. Individual salary is determined by qualifications, role, level, and location.
