Who You Are

Brightwheel is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to join our customer lifecycle team, focusing on Growth and Activation functions, a major focus for brightwheel in 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experimentation-minded leader who thrives in customer centric environments and is passionate about building high-performing teams. You balance technical depth with people management skills, ensuring your team can deliver scalable solutions while fostering a supportive, growth-oriented culture. What You’ll Do

  • In this role, you'll lead our Growth and Activation pods, partnering closely with product, design, and data to accelerate growth throughout the customer journey—from first touch through adoption. Both teams are composed of passionate, dedicated engineers who strive to rapidly deliver projects while balancing quality.
  • Your teams will experiment rapidly, ship full-stack features, and build the infrastructure that powers brand awareness, onboarding, personalized experiences, and more. 
  • You’ll develop and grow the team by mentoring and coaching engineers, as well as through performance management and hiring. 
  • You’ll drive process improvements to increase development velocity while simultaneously raising the bar for quality and operational excellence. 
  • You’ll Contribute to engineering-wide initiatives as a member of Brightwheel’s engineering management team.

  • Our stack is comprised of React, Rails, Postgres on RDS, Redis, Sidekiq, and others running on a finely-tuned Kubernetes cluster in AWS powering a web experience and native iOS and Android apps. We believe in using pragmatic, battle-hardened technologies that are right for the job.
