Engineering Lead

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Engineering Lead to guide the development and architecture of CreatorIQ's Creator Pay product, which empowers clients to manage end-to-end creator payments. As the Engineering Lead, you will work closely with a backend developer, full stack developer, and product management team to oversee the technical direction, architecture, and execution of the payments platform. Your role will involve making key architectural decisions, ensuring best practices are followed, and fostering cross-team collaboration to build a secure, scalable, and reliable payments infrastructure.

In this role, you’ll get to:

  • Oversee the technical strategy and architecture for CreatorIQ’s Creator Pay product, ensuring it is designed for scalability, security, and maintainability.

  • Collaborate with the backend developer and full stack developer to define and deliver high-quality backend services and APIs for payment workflows.

  • Make key architectural decisions, including technology stack selection, system design, and infrastructure scaling, to support growth and maintain performance under heavy transaction loads.

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the development team, ensuring best practices are followed in areas such as code quality, testing, and deployment processes.

  • Partner with the product manager to align technical solutions with business goals, balancing feature development with technical debt management and long-term stability.

  • Lead the implementation of third-party financial services integrations, ensuring seamless and secure payment processing.

  • Ensure the platform adheres to compliance, data privacy, and security standards, particularly in handling sensitive payment data.

  • Drive the continuous improvement of development processes, including CI/CD, automated testing, and code review practices.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical challenges, making real-time decisions on architecture and performance issues.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including front-end developers, QA, and product management, to deliver on product roadmaps and ensure timely delivery of new features and improvements.

Who you are and what you’ll need for this position

  • 7+ years of experience in backend or full-stack development, with a strong focus on designing and building scalable systems.

  • Proven experience in technical leadership or architect roles, guiding teams through complex projects and architectural decisions.

  • Expertise in payments systems, financial technologies, or similar platforms, including integration with third-party payment providers (e.g., Tipalti, PayPal, Stripe).

  • Strong knowledge of designing and building APIs, with experience in performance optimization and handling large-scale, real-time transaction systems.

  • Deep understanding of security best practices and compliance requirements in payments or financial services.

  • Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS), microservices architecture, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).

  • Experience in rule-based systems and low-code workflow orchestration, especially in AWS (Step Functions) is a plus.

  • Proficient in database design and optimization, especially for large-scale transaction-heavy environments where low latency is required.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Experience in agile development environments and familiarity with tools like Git, Jira, and CI/CD pipelines.
