Job Description:

As Director of Safety Operations, you will lead and oversee the organization’s health and safety policies, ensuring compliance, fostering a culture of safety, and supporting our business objectives.

This hybrid role will supervise 3 full-time dedicated Safety team members and requires reporting to the Phoenix office several days per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide safety and health training for managers and supervisors.
  • Ensure OSHA and other regulatory compliance through regular site inspections and oversight.
  • Organize periodic worksite inspections and issue hazard abatement notices.
  • Oversee and update EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) metrics and dashboards.
  • Investigate accidents, manage Workman’s Compensation, and lead incident management.
  • Collaborate with leadership on safety protocols before and after incident events.
  • Develop systems to collect data and analyze the root causes of accidents and injuries.
  • Promote a safety culture across leadership teams.
  • Evaluate and improve safety training programs and materials.
  • Stay updated on safety regulations and update company policies accordingly.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Telecom safety experience (5+ years) preferred, with knowledge of broadband and fiber safety standards.
  • Familiarity with driver safety, DOT regulations, and drug testing protocols.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate in Risk Management (ARM) preferred (or ability to obtain).
  • Knowledge of OSHA, FCC, NEC/NESC, and related regulations; OSHA 510/500 a plus.
  • Exceptional leadership and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Willingness to travel up to 40% and work irregular hours when needed.
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
