We’re looking for a highly technical, developer-focused product management leader with a Platform as a Product mentality to help set the direction of our developer tools. You’ll partner with outstanding engineering leaders and help deepen our understanding of ZG engineers and what can help them build products.

About the role

Zillow Group is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Product Management, Engineering Platforms. This role will oversee the Zillow Experimentation Platform (ZEXP), Web Platform, and App Platform. 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Product Management team responsible for platforms and infrastructure to help product teams at Zillow Group achieve better, faster, independent, and higher quality development.

  • Develop and execute a strategic vision for developer platforms-as-products that enable Zillow Group’s overall business objectives.

  • Collaborate with engineering, design, and other cross-functional teams to ensure a deep understanding of our customer’s needs and opportunities.

  • In partnership with engineering, drive the roadmap and prioritization, ensuring alignment with company goals and user needs.

  • Mentor and grow a team of product managers, encouraging a culture of customer focus, innovation, collaboration, and excellence.

  • Establish and track key performance metrics to measure the success and impact of developer tools.

  • Advocate for the needs of developers within the organization, ensuring their feedback is incorporated into product planning and development.

  • Stay current with industry trends and standard methodologies to continuously improve Zillow’s developer tools and platforms.

This role has been categorized as a Remote position. “Remote” employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice, which must be identified to the Company. U.S. employees may live in any of the 50 United States, with limited exceptions.

In California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC the standard base pay range for this role is $222,900.00 - $356,100.00 Annually. This base pay range is specific to California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC and may not be applicable to other locations.

In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location.

Who you are

  • 10+ years of product management experience, demonstrating growing responsibility. At least 5 years as a people manager.

  • Deep understanding of developer needs, ideally with a background in software engineering, and the ability to translate those needs into actionable insights.

  • Proven experience in product management, with a focus on developer tools, platforms, or related areas.

  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of leading and growing high-performing teams.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across different teams and levels of the organization.

  • Experience with experimentation platforms, web and app platforms, and developer tools.

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to balance short-term needs with long-term vision.

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to use data to drive decision-making.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field, or the equivalent professional experience.
