Job Summary

The Director of Marketing is responsible for leading and overseeing comprehensive marketing strategies for Automation, focusing on driving revenue growth through effective commercial and industrial marketing initiatives. This role emphasizes demand generation across all strategies, with a primary focus on acquiring net new business and a secondary emphasis on expanding the existing customer base. The position requires a robust background in B2B SaaS/Services marketing, with particular expertise in Digital Marketing, Content, and Demand Generation, and a deep understanding of traditional and innovative marketing strategies.

Job Description

SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strategic Leadership: Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive marketing strategies that align with business objectives to drive maximum revenue and profit growth.
  • Team Management: Oversee and inspire the marketing team, ensuring the execution of high-impact marketing campaigns and initiatives.
  • Market Analysis: Evaluate the competitive landscape, identify high-value segments, and develop targeted marketing programs to increase customer engagement and market share.
  • Budget and P&L Management: Assume P&L responsibility for $300M of revenue and manage the marketing budget
  • Commercial Leadership: Direct all commercial contracts, pricing strategies, and strategic marketing responsibilities across multiple markets and channels, ensuring alignment with overall business goals.
  • Performance Optimization: Implement strategic actions to enhance operating profit through targeted marketing and process improvements.
  • Content and Messaging: Oversee the development of segment-level content, ensuring consistency with short-term and long-term business strategies. Collaborate closely with Sales to ensure message optimization and cross-functional alignment.
  • Government Liaison: Serve as a key liaison for government relations and federal agency regulations, translating mandated requirements into actionable business strategies.
  • Partnership Development: Identify and evaluate potential partnerships or collaborations to enhance the product portfolio and drive market growth.
  • M&A Strategy: Lead strategic analysis for mergers and acquisitions to identify and capitalize on potential growth opportunities.
  • Demand Generation: Spearhead product marketing efforts, including the launch of new solutions, product development, and market trend analysis. Translate business priorities into marketing strategies and tactics in conjunction with other teams to achieve financial and strategic goals.
  • Execution and Performance: Own the execution of marketing plans, including scope definition, target outcomes, key metrics, and required resources. Build systems and processes to track and report on key performance metrics, using data to continually optimize campaign strategies.
  • Campaign Management: Continuously evaluate the performance and ROI of campaigns, adjusting demand tactics and strategy accordingly.
  • Hands-On Marketing: Lead hands-on demand creation efforts, leveraging digital advertising, content strategy, website optimization, email, events, webinars, partnerships, sponsorships, and more.

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Experience: 10+ years of relevant marketing experience, preferably in the motor industry and B2B SaaS/Services marketing.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field is required; MBA preferred.
  • Strategic Vision: Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic marketing plans that align with overall business goals.
  • Leadership: Proven leadership capability to develop, mentor, and manage a high-performing marketing team.
  • Analytical Acumen: Strong analytical skills to evaluate market trends, customer data, and performance metrics, driving informed decision-making.
  • Technical Expertise: Proficient in marketing software and tools, including CRM systems
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Industry Insight: In-depth knowledge of the motor  and drive industry, including market trends and regulatory requirements.
  • Demand Generation Expertise: Extensive experience in digital marketing, content development, and demand generation, with a comprehensive understanding of traditional and innovative marketing strategies.
