Our financial advisory services department is seeking a Controller to service our mid to enterprise size clients. Our ideal candidate is a CPA with prior experience at a well-reputed accounting firm (preferably big 4). They are customer-centric, have a strong business acumen, and have experience working with a wide array of industry verticals that can range from professional services, distribution, technology, etc...

Responsibilities

  • Manage all accounting operations, including oversight of financial statements.
  • Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, and report variances.
  • Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
  • Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
  • Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Manage cash and funding balances.
  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
  • Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Manage accounting teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, Graduate degree preferred.
  • CPA or CIA designation
  • 8 years+ of overall accounting experience. 
  • 3 years+ of experience as a hands-on Controller/ CFO including companies that range from midsize to enterprise ($500 million annual revenue).
  • Experience with SEC reporting is a strong asset
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong process improvement skills.
  • Superior leadership skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal skills.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Experience working in ERP systems.
