Dealerware’s team is currently hiring a Digital Product Design Intern to work closely with our product managers, engineers and Senior Product Designers. We are a close-knit design team that is inspired to change the world of mobility through research, data, and thoughtful design solutions to interesting and complex problems. Our successful new team member will demonstrate a passion for solving complex problems, collaborating and learning from others, exploring problem spaces in creative and thorough ways, creating compelling design solutions, articulating their rationale and thought process, influencing and persuading others, and ultimately, helping make their teams stronger and more effective.

As a Digital Product Design Intern, you will:

  • Join a current team of product designers to help shape and execute a product roadmap
  • Partner effectively with product designers, product managers, and engineers to deliver results that could not have been delivered by any one person or group alone
  • Demonstrate the ability to “go wide” in your thinking and develop multiple, divergent concepts and collecting feedback before “going narrow” and choosing a direction to pursue in detail
  • Deliver sketches, diagrams, models, detailed designs, and prototypes to inform your design process and to evaluate concepts during feedback gathering and usability testing
  • Participate in design critiques, seeking feedback for your own designs and providing constructive feedback to team members
  • Effectively use qualitative and quantitative data to inform your design decisions, foster a point of view on design direction, and articulate rationale to stakeholders and teammates

Your peers would say you:

  • Are self-motivated, detail-oriented, and are energized by solving complex problems
  • Share your expertise with others, acknowledge when you don’t know the answer, and are eager to learn new methods, tools, and processes
  • Are an effective and respectful communicator

Required qualifications:

  • At least 1 previous design internship where you designed for a digital medium
  • Completion of a UX Bootcamp or are actively enrolled in your senior year of undergraduate studies with a focus on design or HCI
  • Competent with popular design tools such as Figma and Miro
  • Able to work within the guidelines of a design system

Dealerware offers you:

  • Competitive pay at an hourly rate of $25 per hour
  • 3 month contract to start with potential path to full time-hire as a Junior Designer on the team
  • Hybrid work model supporting local and remote employees via flexible, in-office collaboration, work-from-home as needed, and periodic team gatherings.
  • New office and a dynamic team in downtown Austin with free parking
  • Friendly, small company environment that ensures your influence on products we build
  • A progressive culture with an emphasis on Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion
  • Backed by Audi, a 115-year-old automotive industry leader
