Job Description

AECOM is seeking an innovative Digital Growth Lead for the West Region Transportation business line. In this critical role, you will take charge of developing, advancing, and executing our strategy to establish a commanding presence in the digital transportation sector. This includes driving the implementation of advanced digital delivery approaches as well as the expansion of our digital consulting (advisory and implementation) services within the US West Region Transportation business line. 

As the Digital Transportation Growth Lead at AECOM, your mission will be to cultivate and direct a specialized digital consulting practice, concentrating not just on team growth but also on the strategic evolution of this essential business area. In alignment with AECOM's overarching global transportation and digital strategies, your role will be pivotal in nurturing and enhancing client relationships through cutting-edge Digital Transportation services and solutions, thereby significantly boosting AECOM's digital consulting contributions in the region. 

Ultimately, as the growth leader, you will be accountable for developing a clear go-to-market strategy, capture the pipeline of opportunity, while establishing AECOM as a frontrunner in digital services and solutions within the transportation industry.  This position offers the flexibility of (a) remote work schedule and will require 25-30% travel to client sites and our Denver, CO office. We strongly prefer candidates in the western hemisphere of the US.

Key Responsibilities 

Project Leadership and Technical Advisory: 

  • Serve in direct delivery roles on projects to provide technical leadership, project management, advisement, and solutioning associated with digital technologies such as Project Wise, ACC, BIM and Asset Management. 

  • Serve as a liaison between clients and technical teams to guide the creation of solutions that effectively address client challenges. This role will specifically offer advisory services focused on selecting top-tier technologies and integrated business processes for program and portfolio management, BIM, and asset management. 

Strategic Communication and Market Alignment: 

  • Understand the broader Transportation offering to develop internal and external messaging and marketing material to align digital offerings within core Transportation services. 

  • Liaison with global product teams to understand features roadmap and provide feedback to support the alignment of future features and marketing effort to align with the needs for the West region. 

Business Development and Client Engagement: 

  • Plan, organize, and implement business development activities.  

  • Engage in high level, unstructured conversations within leadership levels of client organizations to enable problem identification and business case development.  

  • Identify and develop key client relationships and monitor client satisfaction levels, in coordination with existing Client Account Managers when applicable. 

  • Lead regional digital bids for Transportation and support select cross business line pursuits.  

Operational Excellence and Quality Management: 

  • Facilitate evaluations and discussions on existing programs and longer-term contracts to help teams understand and define potential opportunities for improvements and efficiencies. 

  • Implement and oversee quality assurance and control processes, ensuring high standards in all deliverables.  

Networking and Resource Optimization 

  • Develop and maintain a broad network and understanding of technical resources and ongoing work occurring across other business lines throughout the firm within North America 

  • Understand the teams’ capabilities in comparison with the market to continuously convey our capabilities and needs for bench growth to both our client facing teams and senior leadership.  

 

 

 

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:  

  • BA/BS + 10 years’ experience in digital project and solution delivery for transportation industry design and construction efforts or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 2 years of leadership.

  • Demonstrated ability to work cross business lines in understanding and collaboration. 

  • Demonstrated client (internal and external) relationship and business development capabilities. 

  • Demonstrated innovation and technical leadership delivery. 

  • Exceptional interpersonal and stakeholder management skill 

  • Demonstrated experience in development of scopes, fees, and proposals.  

  • This position requires the ability to travel 25-30% to various client site locations and AECOM offices.

Preferred Qualifications  

  • Demonstrated experience in the transportation industry markets with experience in technology planning and implementation for transportation clients within public departments of transportation, transit, aviation, and ports.   

  • Direct knowledge of organizational, financial, and AEC project delivery approaches for the transportation industry. 

  • Deep knowledge and practical experience of implementing Building Information Management (BIM), Project Information Management Systems (PMIS), and associated digital delivery tools for design and construction delivery 

  • Knowledge of owner side tools for managing transportation infrastructure including Centralized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), Intelligent Traffic Systems (ITS), and associated planning and management tools.

  • Self-starter with the ability to work as a positive, energized and adaptable team member. 

  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and influence senior leaders. 

  • Strong relationship building skills. 

  • Demonstrated ability to champion and drive ideas/programs/solutions. 

  • Well established ability to translate and liaison between business level problems and challenges to highly technical digital solutions and architectures. 

  • Strong ability to develop messaging and marketing materials to translate highly technical offerings and solutions into broader, layman’s proposal messaging.  

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills; able to work under pressure and prioritize effectively. 

  • Able to demonstrate passion, energy and drive, especially in the face of resistance.
