WORK TYPE: Full time; Onsite/Remote

LOCATION DETAILS: 640 Shiloh Rd, Plano, TX 75074

WORK HOURS:  Mon-Fri; 8am-5pm. Some evenings & Weekends required  

TRAVEL REQUIREMENT: Travel will be determined to best fit the needs of the team. Attendance at trainings and staff meetings, and in person design sessions is required where applicable. Travel may include overnight stays and weekends.

BASE PAY RATE: Between $50,000-$60,000

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

A Design Coordinator will work in a fast-paced environment, facilitating the development of custom garments between customer, sales representative, designer, and sample room production team.  This individual will spend most of their time documenting garment specifics and ensuring those details are represented in the finished garments. This role best fits an applicant who is detail oriented, a strong communicator and has excellent time management skills. This position requires the ability to be professional with internal customers such as sales representatives, pattern makers and production team members, as well as with external customers.  Training and maintained knowledge of current fashion collections and specifications is expected.

This position will be the facilitator between the customer, sales representative, new product development and sample production.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Schedule design sessions with customer, sales representative, and designer via MS Teams
  • Facilitate live design session, ensuring customer requests are represented in a detailed visual
  • Coordinate any required sketch changes with designer
  • Utilize Salesforce.com to request design development
  • Request prototype orders for sample presentation to customer
  • Answer any questions pattern maker or lettering team may have during garment development
  • Review pattern samples, production lettering proofs and sublimation proofs for approval
  • Attend fit sessions and approve shipment of prototypes
  • Manage workflow in production management system (PLM)
  • Maintain required status reports for custom garment development
  • Manage any requested garment revisions with customer, sales rep, new product development, patterns, and lettering
  • Lead in-house design sessions with sales representatives and customers
  • Travel to customers for required in-person design sessions
  • Represent design team as requested at Varsity events and training
  • Assist with organizing of returned prototype garments to Plano office
  • Answer factory questions on production orders of custom garments
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Knowledge of our current catalogs and product offerings
  • Ability to work independently, yet function well in a team environment

QUALIFICATIONS

KNOWLEDGE/ SKILLS/ ABILITIES

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and juggle multiple tasks at the same time
  • Utmost attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills; consistently meets deadlines; highly organized
  • Flexible team player; able to quickly adapt to change

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Fashion Merchandising or Communications preferred, or equivalent field experience/expertise
  • Design of Product Coordinator experience preferred with athletic apparel background and/or all-star competitive cheer experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Teams, Salesforce.com, Product Lifecycle Management software

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This job operates in a professional office environment. Largely a sedentary role with some filing requiring the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bending or standing on a stool as necessary. The ability to sit or stand for long periods through meetings and while operating office equipment, PC’s, laptop, telephone will be required.  

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; drive, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

During events, the ability to stand and walk for long periods of time (5 hours plus) is required. The ability to communicate with customers and colleagues using the following but not limited to radio, walkie talkie, text message and email is required. The ability to lift, bend, push, pull and manipulate equipment that is a minimum of 30 lbs. is required.
