The Manager - Data & Content produces and manages technical content for our indirect tax (Sales and Use tax) compliance software products. This individual will be responsible for ensuring that tangible business indirect tax is up to date, accurate and implemented correctly within the software.
Duties and responsibilities, as they align to Ryan’s Key Results
People:
- Create a positive team member experience.
Client:
- Respond to client inquiries and requests from tax authorities.
- Own our indirect tax compliance content area. Responsible various aspects of this product area as it relates to creating and delivering business indirect tax filings.
- Perform research and analysis of business indirect tax code and filing requirements. Maintain jurisdiction contact information.
- Manages changes in factor tables, forms, filing regulations and other aspects of business indirect tax policy.
Value:
- Develop content into deliverables based on requirements in accordance with company standards and goals for content management.
- Assist in maintaining taxability matrices by keeping up with law changes and timely implement such changes.
- Oversee and test software functionality in accordance with content test plans.
- Develop forms and functionality test plans. Analyze test cases for compliance testing.
- Lead or participate in other projects or duties as assigned.
- Meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment with aggressive schedules.
Education and Experience:
Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in area related, but not limited to, Accounting, Finance, Information Systems Development, Business Administration, Content Management or six to eight years equivalent industry experience. Experience with tax software a plus.
Skills:
- Must have strong knowledge of Sales & Use Tax compliance
- Must have experience with Adobe Acrobat Designer and SQL Management Studio
- Strong analytical and technical skills including knowledge of SQL
- Experience with data manipulation and analysis, including filtering, sorting, and aggregating data
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to determine scope, topics, and requirements for content development projects.
- Research skills using tax research tools and navigating the internet.
- Strong aptitude for detailed information.
- Excellent communication (oral, written, presentation and facilitation) skills.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision with wide latitude for independent judgment.
- Ability to work well in a virtual environment.
Computer Skills:
Experience maintaining of relational databases desirable.
Standard Microsoft Office Products: Outlook, Word and Excel. Adobe and PropertyPoint would be beneficial but not required
Certificates and Licenses:
Preference for Property Tax industry specific training and certifications such as Institute for Professionals in Taxation (IPT)
Supervisory Responsibilities:
May lead a small team of content specialists supporting the software functionality.
