Data Analyst – Temporary/Part-Time
Job Summary: Reporting to the VP of Product, the Data Analyst will play a pivotal role in helping Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs) make informed, data-driven decisions. Working on behalf of RapidDeploy and through close collaboration with PSAP teams, you will identify patterns and trends in emergency call data, track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as call handling times and resolution rates, and provide actionable insights that can enhance their overall performance. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on public safety by directly supporting PSAPs in optimizing their operations and meeting critical goals.
This position is based in North Carolina - to qualify for this position, you must live in the State of North Carolina. No other applicants will be considered they are located outside of the State of North Carolina.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Analysis: Conduct thorough analyses of emergency call data to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies. Use statistical methods to interpret data and generate meaningful insights.
- Performance Tracking: Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as call handling times, resolution rates, and other relevant metrics. Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to visualize data and track performance metrics over time.
- Business Intelligence: Utilize business intelligence tools and techniques to gather, analyze, and present data. Develop and maintain BI solutions to support data-driven decision-making.
- Collaboration: Work closely with PSAP teams to understand their operational challenges and data needs. Provide tailored data insights and recommendations to support their decision-making processes.
- Reporting: Prepare detailed reports and presentations that summarize findings and provide actionable recommendations. Communicate complex data insights in a clear and concise manner to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Data Integrity: Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data in all analyses and reports. Implement data quality checks and validation processes to maintain high standards of data reliability.
- Strategic Support: Assist the VP of Product in strategic decision-making by providing data-driven insights and recommendations. Contribute to the development of data strategies and initiatives that align with organizational goals.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with the latest data analysis techniques, tools, and best practices. Continuously seek opportunities to improve data processes and methodologies.
Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
Background/ Experience: Proven experience as a Data Analyst or in a similar role, preferably within the public safety sector or with emergency call data.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in data analysis tools and software such as SQL, Python, R, and Excel. Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.
- Business Intelligence: Strong skills in business intelligence tools and techniques. Experience with BI platforms such as Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, or similar.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and generate actionable insights. Experience with statistical analysis and data modeling.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to present data insights clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects with a high degree of precision.
- Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with emergency call data or in the public safety sector.
- Knowledge of PSAP operations and challenges.
