Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Data Analyst with strong expertise in business intelligence, data transformation, and statistical analysis. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in data analysis, proficient in SQL and Power BI (or other visualization tools), and a deep understanding of business analytics. Responsibilities include extracting and transforming data for business intelligence tools, working across a variety of quantitative research methods, enhancing and editing key reports, and developing end-user documentation and training materials. The role requires strong critical thinking skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to engage with senior leadership. Familiarity with programming languages like Python or R, as well as experience in subscription models, data engineering fundamentals and basic understanding of statistical modelling / machine learning is a plus. The candidate will also support project management and contribute to process improvements.

What You'll Do

  • Interpret business stakeholder needs through deep understanding of the business challenges or opportunities and translating that to the logical and technical approach to supporting that those needs with data
  • Conduct advanced ad hoc analyses that unlock data insights across sales, marketing, product and other data sets
  • Explore both transformed and raw data sets to understand the data, confirm its completeness/accuracy and expose it into meaningful KPIs and attributes  
  • Develop compelling data storytelling through visualizations and reports, ensuring insights are clear, actionable, and impactful for business leaders
  • Present findings to non-technical stakeholders in a way that drives decision-making and aligns with strategic business goals
  • Prototype persistent data models to be demonstrated in proofs of concepts to the business stakeholder prior to handing off to data engineering team for integration to the data warehouse 
  • Provide guidance for advanced analytics (predictive, machine learning, AI use cases), conducted in engineering
  • Collaborate to build and maintain a data governance framework that ensures consistency of KPI measurement and standardized definitions for attributes and measures

What You'll Need to Succeed

  • Minimum of 7 years as an Analyst, or related experience
  • Expertise in advanced data analysis techniques and statistical modeling
  • Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Python, R) and advanced analytical tools
  • Strong project management skills and experience in leading projects
  • Bachelor’s degree in Math, Statistics, Computer Science, Business, Economics, or related field 
  • Inherent curiosity and enthusiasm 
  • Experience in Power BI and/or other visualization tools 
  • Advanced SQL (Structured Query Language) 
  • Strong analytic and critical thinking skills 
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Excel (intermediate to advanced level) 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, experience, and confidence in engaging with senior leadership
  • Proficient in statistical and mathematical data analysis techniques such as regression analysis is a plus 
  • Familiarity with machine learning techniques is a plus 
  • Experience with Google Analytics and/or other web analytics platforms is a plus 
  • Experience working with a Membership/Subscription model preferred
