We are currently seeking an Data Analyst with strong critical thinking, problem solving, and multitasking abilities to work cross-functionally on projects for our federal government clients.  

The ideal candidate will be comfortable with research, data visualization, and using a variety of analytic approaches to help solve complex problems. This is a unique opportunity to collaborate with key government leaders, emergency management experts, first responders, and analysts to create real change. This position will join our Data Analytics team and report to our Director of Data Analytics. We will consider remote candidates for this position, although candidates will be expected to adhere to East Coast core business hours. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Act as a consultant in complex or mission-critical client requirements.  
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative research to support new domain spaces and technologies 
  • Synthesize research and analysis to diverse set of stakeholders and clients.  
  • Work to apply advanced principles, theories, and concepts and develop comprehensive solutions to complex problems.
  • Support the development of divisional policies, standards, processes, work instructions and templates.  
  • Perform research and investigations of government regulations particularly in relation to critical infrastructure and risk analysis.
  • Participate in all phases of scientific and analysis projects such as research, design, development, testing, modeling, simulating, training, and documentation
  • Create compelling and intuitive visualizations using and/or representing complex and diverse datasets
  • Integrate and harmonize disparate sources of data to create novel datasets that can be used to develop new insights and solutions
  • Use exploratory techniques to assess the completeness and appropriateness of data for a given problem 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a discipline with quantitative coursework  
  • 3-7 years prior experience in a similar role 
  • Has a broad range of experience in the analysis of agency business issues (technical, operational, financial and/or business case problems) and has shown the ability to create practical solutions to such issues 
  • Strong experience with library/internet research and excitement about learning details of new domain spaces and technologies
  • Ability to communicate well with clients, both in written reports and verbal communications
  • Proficiency with modern approaches in data analytics (e.g., statistics, machine learning, econometrics)  
  • Familiarity with at least one programming language with extensive support for data analytics (e.g., Python and/or R preferred)  
  •  Aptitude for working with a diverse set of stakeholders and managing competing priorities  
  • Ability to obtain DHS suitability 

Nice to Have: 

  • 1+ years of specialized experience in policy and outside stakeholder outreach
  • Additional documented training beyond college or additional industry-recognized credentials (e.g., Professional Engineering license, Certified Safety Professional, Board certification in an area.)
  • Experience with survey methodology, including survey design and analysis
  • Experience with PowerBI or Tableau
  • Experience with Figma or other graphic design software
  • Experience working with the Federal Government as a Federal employee and/or consultant

$70,000$80,000 USD
