eBay’s Corporate Development Team is responsible for identifying, evaluating and driving the company’s strategic acquisitions, divestitures, investments and joint ventures!
The team works closely with eBay’s Executive Leadership, Business Unit leaders and Strategy teams to use M&A or investments to accomplish strategic and business objectives. We assess opportunities to ensure a strong strategic rationale including the case for buying vs. building vs. partnering. We evaluate the organizational fit and integration plan, develop a case, diligence targets, perform valuation, structure, negotiate and execute transactions. The team also works closely with business and cross-functional teams to project manage transactions from start to finish. We are currently seeking an accomplished, well-rounded professional to join our high caliber team!
What You Will Accomplish:
- Research and prepare landscape analysis on potential targets.
- Work with Business unit teams to find opportunities for potential M&A targets
- Develop and implement decision-making frameworks to evaluate acquisition and investment opportunities.
- Drive consensus on sophisticated strategic questions with engagement from senior management, cross-functional and cross-regional teams.
- Prepare executive-ready presentations with strategic framing, analysis, and recommendations.
- Conduct rigorous valuation analyses (using multiple methodologies) and business / integration / harmony case modeling.
- Coordinate due diligence and evaluate due diligence results.
- Facilitate and manage acquisition and investment processes with cross-functional groups involving business units, Corporate Strategy, Finance, Legal, Human Resources, Site Operations, Product Management, Engineering and other functional teams.
What You Will Bring:
- Dedicated to eBay's Hybrid Work Model based out of our San Jose, CA corporate headquarters or our Austin, Texas office. Hybrid required the employee to work onsite 3+ days/week.
- Bachelor’s degree and 2-3 years of relevant work experience at a top-tier investment bank, private equity, venture capital firm or corporate development team is preferred.
- Experience in settings that require critical thinking, problem solving, and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must have a demonstrated ability to work well in a team and with people in other functions, to multi-task and to thrive in a high-tech environment.
- Strong project management skills including ability to support multiple end-to-end projects simultaneously.
- Proven curiosity about eBay by virtue of having transacted on the platform.
- Flexible work style built on a foundation of personal integrity, humility and an appreciation for the power of teamwork.

The applicable base pay range for this position is dependent on work location. The base pay range in the San Francisco Bay Area, New York City Metro and Seattle Metro is expected in the range below:
$112,000 - $149,500
The base pay range for all other U.S. work locations is expected in the range below:
$75,200 - $129,800
Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
