Amex GBT adopted a global segment driven model early in 2023, since then SME segment has seen excellent growth. This is an exciting role in the newly formed SME arm of Global Business Consulting, which offers services such as Strategy, Sourcing, Travel Policy, Custom Reporting Solutions, ESG, Program Optimization and Category Management. This position will work in a fast-paced and collaborative environment, supporting multiple clients globally.
This includes finding opportunities to improve the client’s travel program, crafting project plans to address the opportunities, developing the communication plan to key client partners, and ultimately driving the implementation of the solutions. A successful candidate will be able to lead several project workstreams across multiple geographies.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter with consulting, project management, analytic and travel/air/hotel shown experience.

What You'll Do: 

You will partner with multiple teams, the core responsibilities include: 

  • Drive various Consulting engagements, be the client point of contact and lead communication. 

  • Develop and implement strategic recommendations that are data-driven, compelling, and impactful to achieve program objectives 

  • Proactively propose innovation to clients to improve their travel program 

  • Identify and deliver on renewal, upselling and optimizing opportunities within client portfolio 

  • Negotiate with Suppliers 

  • Lead internal initiatives, including active participation into cross functional projects 

  • Collaborate with the analyst team to deliver clients project and proactively improve standard deliverables 

  • Stay abreast with industry developments, news, changes and act as a guide to bring additional value to clients 

  • Independently build strong client and supplier relationships 

  • Partner with clients commercial lead 
      

What We´re Looking For: 

  • Project Management, Analysis and Presentation Skills and Strategic and analytical mentality with deep understanding of both TMC travel data and supplier/third party data (Air/Hotel/Car rental supplier, Corporate Card, Expense, etc.) and experience leading projects with global customers. 

  • Expert level knowledge of MS Office suite, familiarity with data visualization tools and reporting (i.e. PowerBI, Tableau), and confirmed experience to be multi-tasking. Nice to have Cvent tool. 

  • Strong written and oral communication skills – ability to translate sophisticated data into story-telling, and present to internal & external senior partners and counterparts 

  • Attention to detail and ability to work with data at a detailed level while keeping an eye on broader strategy and ability to work well both within a team and as an independent contributor, with strong passion for working in cross-cultural teams 

  • Excellent problem solving skills with ability to synthesize and present sophisticated concepts to both leadership and operational teams 

  • Effectively complete multi-workstream engagements, prioritize projects and work objectives using appropriate project management methodologies and tools. 

  • Understanding of client organization and dynamics. Build strong working relationships with all key partners. Leverage Amex GBT and available industry tools and solutions to develop outstanding results and standard methodologies 

  • Comfortable in working on different clients typology from all brands of the Amex GBT group (Amex GBT Egencia, Ovation and Select) and in building positive relationships with their commercial teams. Commercial attitude and ability to lead business development efforts in addition to project delivery 

  • Experience optimally navigating global, matrixed client organizations 

  • Experience & understanding of the Travel industry and representing a firm or client´s interest within the marketplace (i.e., suppler/industry conferences)

The US national annual base salary range for this position is from $46,000 to $93,000.  The national range provided includes the base salary that GBT expects to pay for the role.  Actual base salary will be based on factors including the scope and complexity of the role and the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and work location.
