You can expect to:

  • Collaborate with team members across Mexico and LATAM to move communications projects forward
  • Partner with external PR agencies to support execution and track deliverables
  • Communicate with stakeholders in different teams, such as Legal and Policy
  • Seek and provide feedback throughout the internship
  • Actively participate in and contribute to the Communications team and broader Airbnb community

A typical day:

  • Supporting the team in developing and editing internal and external materials such as story pitches, op-eds, Q&As, talking points, and presentations
  • Partnering with the Mexico Communications team and PR agencies to organize media events, press trips, and reporter engagement
  • Following up on key deliverables and campaign trackers to ensure timely execution
  • Researching and identifying new media contacts, influencers, and local outlets
  • Monitoring political, arts, entertainment, and travel trends to help shape campaigns
  • Learning how to build strategic communications plans that reflect Airbnb’s mission and local impact


Your expertise:

  • Must be based in Mexico City
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English (verbal and written fluency required)
  • Pursuing a degree or graduate-level program in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Political Science, or a related field
  • Strong writing and storytelling skills, with a passion for communications and media
  • Experience through coursework, internships, blogging, student publications, or relevant volunteer work
  • Familiarity with Google Suite and Microsoft Office (especially for presentations and content drafting)
  • Understanding of social media platforms and digital communications metrics is a plus
  • Enthusiastic, self-starter with strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Passion for Airbnb’s mission and belief in the power of travel to create belonging
