The Role:

Combining business, security expertise, and a focus on commercial applications, the Commercial Solutions Architect role will demonstrate the value of Halcyon’s cyber resilience solution to customers by advising, educating, and redefining the next generation of cybersecurity and recovery in commercial contexts. This role offers the chance to excel in a fast-paced, high-volume sales environment, where managing a diverse portfolio of accounts leads to substantial quarterly achievements and revenue growth. The role will align closely with our sales team and require close partnership with other internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction and meaningful product development. The Commercial Solutions Architect will actively contribute to quarterly and annual quota objectives by facilitating discussions, coordinating technical demonstrations, and representing Halcyon as the market-leading solution in commercial sectors. Our ideal candidate will have practical experience in account and channel management, engineering and product implementation in commercial settings, and can offer relevant and actionable recommendations that differentiate Halcyon in the commercial market.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with multiple stakeholders across the executive branch (CxO) in commercial sectors, as well as other relevant stakeholders, to demonstrate the value of Halcyon’s solution.

  • Advise and educate customers and channel partners on the Halcyon platform and its capabilities, with a focus on commercial applications.

  • Assist account and channel management in commercial sectors to drive revenue and move opportunities throughout the sales cycle.

  • Interface and partner with customer success and threat intelligence liaisons to align customer expectations with Halcyon, ensuring service delivery excellence and customer satisfaction in commercial contexts.

  • Interface and partner with product management and engineering to align customer requests for features and functionality with a focus on commercial needs.

  • Attain quarterly and annual quota objectives, working in partnership with sales using Halcyon sales operating processes by adding value throughout the entire sales motion in commercial sectors, including activities such as:

    • Facilitating new discussions by leveraging peer and industry network contacts in commercial sectors.

    • Telling the Halcyon story and detailing the value proposition for commercial applications.

    • Performing requirements-analysis and qualification of opportunities in commercial contexts.

    • Coordinating and managing demonstrations and POV efforts, including endpoint testing, virtual environment lab configuration, and responding to customer questions with a focus on commercial needs.

    • Seamlessly transitioning engagements for delivery to the customer success team with a commercial focus.

  • Stay current on industry trends with a particular emphasis on commercial applications.

  • Maintain advisory relationships with key stakeholders at commercial customers by providing thought leadership, support, information, and guidance in conjunction with sales teams.

  • Support marketing to build Halcyon brand awareness in commercial sectors through speaking at corporate-sponsored events, writing industry articles, and leveraging social media to properly represent Halcyon.

  • Actively pursue personal development by maintaining and obtaining technical capabilities, soft skills, and security-specific knowledge through formal education, certification, and other avenues, with a focus on commercial applications.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Senior Commercial Solutions Architect tier: 8+ years in an information security engineering role, preferably with significant experience in commercial sectors as a Channel Engineer, Solutions Architect, advisor, or architect.

  • Commercial Solutions Architect tier: 5+ years in an information security engineering role, preferably with experience in commercial sectors as a Channel Engineer, Solutions Architect, advisor, or architect.

  • Significant technical capability and experience in modern security platforms, with a focus on applications in commercial sectors.

  • Knowledge in areas relevant to commercial sectors: Cloud Security, Endpoint Defense, Modern Malware Lifecycle, Threat Intelligence, Security Operations, Incident Response, Endpoint Management, Identity Protection, and Computer Forensics.

  • Experience in a security-focused solution architect, sales engineer, or similar role with a focus on commercial applications.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to present to a variety of external audiences, including being able to interact with senior executives in commercial sectors.

  • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally up to 40%, with a focus on engagements in commercial sectors.

  • Prior experience with data consumption capabilities including APIs, scripting, and data exchange formats, with applications in commercial contexts.

  • B.A./M.S. degree or equivalent experience/technical training, with a preference for backgrounds relevant to commercial sectors.

  • Business development experience in a consulting and/or services environment, with a focus on commercial applications.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Scripting experience in PowerShell, VBScript, Bash, and/or Python, with applications in commercial contexts.

  • CISSP, CEH, GIAC GCFA, GCIH, or similar certifications, with relevance to commercial sectors.

Base Salary Range: $130,000 - $175,000

NY, CO, CA, and WA residents only: In accordance with NY, CO, CA, and WA law, the range provided is Halcyon’s reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role in a commercial context. The actual amount may differ based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and location in commercial sectors. Base pay is one part of the total package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work in commercial applications, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and equity in the Company.


In accordance with applicable state and federal laws, the range provided is Halcyon’s reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount may differ based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and location. Base pay is one part of the total package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and equity in the Company.
