At FOS, it’s all about the people. We’re constantly growing, and that’s where this new opportunity comes in – for a Business Development Representative for our Simplebid® JOC program. The Business Development Representative is responsible for the West region in the United States. Applicants in WA, OR, CA, MT, ID, NV, WY, UT, AZ, CO, and NM will be considered. Preference may be given to candidates that can work in one of the CannonDesign locations. In this position, you will be responsible for assisting the Simplebid® Regional Account Executives and Director of Sales in identifying new client opportunities, building and maintaining relationships, and enabling the greater sales team to exceed targets. The ideal candidate has experience in sales, sales management, business development and relationship building. Experience in construction and/or public agency procurement highly preferred, but not required.

 

Here's what you'll do:

  • Primary focus will be our Simplebid® JOC software platform. You will capitalize upon your existing network, FOS of CannonDesign’s client base, and numerous lead development strategies to build relationships with key clients and individuals.
  • Identify target clients through research and lead generation.
  • At FOS of CannonDesign, business development is a team sport. You will be expected to partner and collaborate with other leaders in the firm to advance new client relationships.
  • Responsible for personally identifying a specific amount of unique new sales opportunities. Your role is to enhance an opportunity pipeline that will support our sales targets. 
  • Assist research and intelligence gathering for potential opportunities to better position FOS of CannonDesign to close deals.
  • Participate in the development and coaching of client-facing presentations, providing the client’s perspective from intelligence gathered during your research, and at times participate in the presentation itself. 
  • Work collaboratively with other business development professionals throughout the firm regarding marketing and business development activities.
  • Work closely with others as you generate qualified client leads and strategize next steps accordingly. You will participate in client engagement planning meetings in the office and assist with pursuit execution including written proposal content development.

Here's what you'll need

  • 5+ years of work experience in a related position.
  • Related industry experience and a network of public construction and procurement decision makers is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field preferred, but not required.
  • Additional certifications and/or training relevant to this role preferred.
  • Experience with customer relationship management software platforms.
  • Experience in relationship development and lead generation.
  • Experience in sales, sales management, business development, and relationship building.
  • Experience in construction and/or public agency procurement highly preferred, but not required.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to communicate authentically and respectfully.
  • Some travel will be required.

The salary range for this position to be filled in our is $79,100 to $98,900 annually. This is the anticipated range of base compensation at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary from posting based on final candidate’s geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level. In addition to your base salary, you may earn commissions based on the sales and opportunities you generate. Employees may be eligible for discretionary bonuses. We offer a full benefit package including medical, dental and vision coverage and flexible spending account options and voluntary insurances.
