Job Summary:

The Business Analyst IV is responsible to understand CareSource business rules, culture, and complex, strategic priorities to effectively identify business gaps or problems, propose solutions, and assess proposed business solutions for best representing the needs of stakeholders across one or many complex initiatives.

Essential Functions:

  • Collaborate with leadership to identify and recommend areas of improvement opportunities and development plans associated with Business Analysis Competency Model, Requirements Lifecycle Management, and validation of deliveries.
  • Demonstrates adaptability and ability to work across a variety of methods and models in managing, tracing, and validating requirements and associated artifacts.
  • Lead teams in all areas of requirements analysis, leveraging appropriate company and industry approaches and modeling techniques to facilitate requirements elicitations, and gathering requirements for projects in order to document them according to corporate standards and procedures, and prioritize them for assigned areas.

  • Provide guidance, recommendations, and mentor internal or external business analysts and/or vendor teams on approach, guidance, and practices that improve delivery and traceability of business requirements and techniques.
  • Maintain the group focus, lead meetings toward stated goals and remains impartial in managing group dynamics toward the successful completion of requirements development and management including:  facilitation of requirements gathering, review. Acceptance, prioritization, validation sessions, and decomposition of requirements into work efforts including writing Agile epics and user stories.
  • Build, sustain, and leverage professional business relationships when gathering, validating and approving requirements.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of stakeholder’s business culture and priorities, the ability to leverage different techniques used to elicit and capture requirements, EPMO standards for documentation, methods for analyzing and prioritizing requirements, and familiarity with tools enabling tracking and tracing requirements.
  • Proficient in all areas of requirements planning, development, and management including planning and monitoring, elicitation and collaboration, requirements lifecycle management, analysis, and validation of business requirements through development of user acceptance test scripts and scenarios
  • Effectively document requirements in all phases of discovery through validation; maintain requirements traceability throughout the projects and requirements lifecycle
  • Assist the development teams in understanding and elaborating requirements and transitioning them into a comprehensive solution
  • Assist with the preparation and execution of User Acceptance Testing
  • Assist the project manager in developing the requirements phase plan and develop the requirements management plan for area of immediate responsibility
  • If assigned, work with business to develop a business case including return on investment, soft benefits and any regulatory issues
  • Assist the project team in identifying and resolving scope, schedule, and resource issues
  • Assist the project team in performing functional impact analysis and estimating the impact of change requests on timelines, budgets, resources and project scope
  • Identify sources of requirements, possible interfaces and affected lines of business
  • Perform other duties as requested

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of relevant experience is required
  • Master’s degree is preferred
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in requirements management is required
  • Healthcare delivery and/or payer industry experience is required

Competencies, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, including Word, and Excel
  • Demonstrated a mastery of skill and understanding of business analysis principles, process, and applications/elicitation tools used for managing requirements
  • Exceptional analytical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Knowledge of managed care and government sponsored programs
  • Extensive knowledge of IT development cycle,  and Agile Framework, and other development frameworks
  • Deep understanding of a project lifecycle, including processes, techniques and tools
  • Strong interpersonal and proven ability to establish effective working relationships with stakeholders at all levels
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Effective listening and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to coordinate and lead cross-functional teams
  • Extensive experience working on multiple projects
  • Effective decision making and problem solving skills with close attention to detail
  • Time management skills, ability to develop, prioritize and accomplish goals with a sense of urgency
  • Ability to multi-task and remain flexible during organizational and/or business changes
  • Customer service oriented

Licensure and Certification:

  • IIBA, Six Sigma, or ITIL Certifications preferred

Working Conditions:

  • General office environment; may be required to sit or stand for long periods of time

Compensation Range:

$92,300.00 - $161,600.00

CareSource takes into consideration a combination of a candidate’s education, training, and experience as well as the position’s scope and complexity, the discretion and latitude required for the role, and other external and internal data when establishing a salary level. In addition to base compensation, you may qualify for a bonus tied to company and individual performance.
