Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounting Specialist to join BrainCheck’s finance team. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring smooth and accurate financial operations. You will handle core accounting functions, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll processing, and expense management, while contributing to the financial health and growth of the company.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Payable/Receivable:

• Process vendor invoices, manage payments, and monitor outstanding accounts.
• Generate invoices for customers and oversee collections and payment applications.

Payroll Processing:

• Process bi-weekly and monthly payroll for employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Ensure the payroll system is updated with the latest information.
• Assist with preparation or review of variable compensation amounts.
• Reconcile the payroll expense and liability accounts.

Expense Management:

• Review and process employee expense reports to ensure compliance with company policies.

Financial Data & Reporting:

• Support outside accounting service on month-end close tasks.
• Assist with ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as assigned.

Compliance & Documentation:

• Maintain accurate records for audits, tax reporting, and company compliance.
• Support continuous process improvements for efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Education: Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience: 1–3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a technology start-up.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in Quickbooks.
• Experience with Gusto, Bill.com, Expensify and Recurly, a plus.
• Strong Excel skills.

Soft Skills:

• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, growth-focused environment.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate cross-functionally with teams.
