Salary: $70,000 - $80,000
Bonus Potential: Eligible for a performance bonus of up to 5% of base salary
Travel: Up to 5% travel may be required
Location: Hybrid - Austin Based (in office 2-3 days a week)

We are seeking an Accounting and Finance Manager to support the management of our day-to-day business operations. This position has a high growth potential within KaiNexus. The Accounting and Finance Manager will be given the opportunity to learn and develop leadership and professional skills directly alongside the Director of Business Operations and our COO.
Primary Responsibilities
Accounting:
- Prepare and send invoices as well as calculating the associated financial metrics and revenue recognition schedules
- Perform day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping tasks, including data entry, account reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Perform the month-end and year-end close processes
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting principles
- Manage AR/AP processes
- Stay current with accounting standards and regulations and maintain and update financial records and systems
Finance/Reporting:
- Calculate and maintain various financial reports such as MRR/ARR, Gross and Net Revenue Retention (GRR/NRR), Logo Retention, CAC/LTV, and Cash Flow forecasting
- Calculate monthly sales performance and sales pipeline performance
- Tracking and reporting on weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual business metrics
- Maintain the commissions model as well as calculate and pay commissions
Payroll:
- Manage and maintain the payroll system including the bi-weekly payroll run with deductions and company contributions for benefits
- Sales Tax/VAT - Register for, calculate, collect, file, remit, and report on US and foreign Sales Tax/VAT
- Payroll Tax - Register for various payroll, unemployment, and other state income related taxes, configure Quickbooks to collect, file, and remit the correct taxes
- Create W-2 and 1099s
Expense Reports:
- Administer the company expense reporting and credit card system
- Ensure all submitted and approved expenses are booked correctly in the GL
Other:
- Analyze and improve departmental procedures
- Assist with departmental strategic projects
- Assist with various activities related to operations, accounting, and finance
- Manage relationships with key operations vendors
- Support the team in various projects, such as audits, tax filings and compliance
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years experience in a finance and/or accounting role or similar
- Proficient with spreadsheets
- Experienced with accounting and revenue recognition
- Experienced with Quickbooks and/or comfortable learning new technology
- Experience with accrual-based accounting concepts
- Detail and solutions-oriented
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management, or similar field OR equivalent work experience
