Tecovas is looking for an Accessories Designer to manage the design process in a collaborative work environment translating briefs and knowledge of market trends into market leading and commercial designs. Reporting directly to the Head of Footwear and Accessories Design, you will be responsible for creating detailed CADs and tech packs for all new styles. 

This role is required to be based in Austin, TX. Candidates must either be currently located in or willing to relocate to Austin, TX.

What you’ll do:

  • Apply seasonal brand direction, market research, trend insight, and knowledge to interpret business briefs from the product team to select materials, and actively create and present new innovative concepts.
  • Develop and create illustrations and technical drawings for new design concepts and digital renderings of materializations in Photoshop and Illustrator, detailing concept, materials, and development specifications based on Tecovas brand design guidelines. 
  • Work with Category Manager to drive multiple design projects from conceptualization to finished product adhering to calendar deadlines while completing digital template guidelines
  • Update tech packs, BOMs, measurements, and comments through product lifecycle
  • Maintain organization of sample room/design area when in-office. 
  • Update CADs for use in line sheets (InDesign), as well as additional quarterly product review documents and presentations
  • International travel as required.  Attendance at trade shows and events may also be required as directed

Experience we’re looking for:

  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign)
  • Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in accessories design, fashion or industrial design in order of preference.
  • High-level organizational skills and ability to self-manage priorities based on development schedule and production calendars.
  • Understanding of the international production calendar as it relates to accessory design and development. Ability to work with factory teams domestically and overseas, as well as our supply chain team. 
  • Understanding of accessory pattern-making, construction techniques and specs, familiarity with PMS color standards, high attention to detail as it relates to product and BOM information.
