In 2014, Eventus was a freshly launched startup with big dreams.

The fully remote company consisted of 11 employees who were determined to solve pressing regulatory technology challenges for capital markets groups. Though the company initially struggled to gain traction from prospects who viewed it as “too small-time” to handle complex financial issues, the team refused to back down from a challenge.

Employees kept their noses to the grindstone to perfect a risk monitoring platform for high-volume trading services firms, and finally struck gold in December 2017 after raising $5.2 million in funding. More capital followed in February 2020 after a $10.5 million Series A round, and again in September 2021 after nabbing $30 million in Series B funding to double its workforce and expand its capacity to monitor financial markets.

Today, Client Success Manager Ariel Almeda can hardly believe the transformation the regtech company has undergone since its early days — a testament to its team’s collective passion and the belief in the products they’ve built.

“Our ambition never wavered and we persevered through those initial obstacles,” Almeda said. “Today, we’ve become the biggest name in our industry and I feel proud to have been a part of this amazing journey.”

WHAT DOES EVENTUS DO?

Eventus is a leading global provider of multi-asset class trade surveillance, market risk and anti-money laundering (AML) solutions. As a completely distributed company, serving clients globally, Eventus employees combine their experiences in capital markets, derivatives, compliance, software development and high-performance data management to deliver innovative solutions. “I am customer success, sales, marketing, billing, support and account management rolled into one,” Almeda said about his role as client success manager.

After closing out 2022 with another record year, even as other financial market compliance professionals faced a myriad of tough challenges, Eventus is determined to keep scaling globally in 2023, as leaders look to expand department sizes and add customizable platform abilities. And while the company has grown eightfold since its inception, Almeda knows it’s that same scrappiness and determination to make a difference that empowers every employee to do their best work every day.

“We believe that when you join Eventus, you’re not just joining a company, but a community of passionate and dedicated individuals who share a common goal,” Almeda said. “This supportive environment fosters collaboration, innovation and personal growth, enabling each member of our team to achieve their full potential.”

What is the client success team’s impact on Eventus’ success so far? What’s to come in 2023?

Client success has played a crucial role in Eventus’ success thus far. By focusing on building strong relationships with our clients and delivering exceptional service, we’ve been able to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.

In 2023, we plan to continue building on this foundation of loyalty and trust by expanding our client success team and investing in new technologies that enhance our ability to anticipate our clients’ needs. Through ongoing collaboration and a commitment to innovation, we’re confident that the client success team will continue to be a key driver of success in the years ahead.

What is something exciting that you are currently working on with the revenue team?

As the first point of contact for customers in the Asia-Pacific region, I understand the importance of building strong relationships with them. This has enabled me to seize opportunities for upsells, expansions and customer referrals, which I’m always happy to pass along to our sales and account management teams. By doing so, I’m able to play a valuable role in ensuring our customers are satisfied and continue to receive exceptional service.

In 2023’s volatile market, customers are looking to Eventus for stability. How does Eventus build trust while delivering peace of mind?

We view mistakes as opportunities for growth and improvement. By learning from our mistakes, we’re able to continuously refine our processes and achieve even better results. Of course, it’s important to not only learn from our mistakes but also to demonstrate tangible results. This mindset drives our focus on delivering exceptional outcomes for our customers and achieving success as a team.
