A Switzerland-based company that helps software engineers deliver clean code will soon move into a new Austin office to accommodate its growing local workforce.
A representative from SonarSource told Built In that 70 of its 300 employees work in Austin, and that the company plans to hire another 150 Austinites over the next two years.
In five weeks, the company’s Austin office plans to move from its current location at 111 W. 6th St. to a new 28,000-square-foot space at 206 E. Ninth St.
SonarSource’s growth will be driven by a $412 million funding round co-led by Advent International and General Catalyst, with participation from Insight Partners and Permira’s Growth Opportunities Fund. The funding round, announced Tuesday, values the company at $4.7 billion.
The company said it will use the investment to double its salesforce and grow its marketing team across its offices in Switzerland, France, Germany and Austin. It is currently hiring for several positions across engineering, IT, product management, sales and marketing.
In the last four years, SonarSource said it grew its commercial customer base by more than 2,000 percent. By beefing up its go-to-market teams, the company hopes to reach $1 billion in revenue.
More than five million developers use SonarSource’s products to catch bugs and security vulnerabilities before the code is embedded into the development process. The company said its products free up developers’ time so they can work toward improving their company’s products.
“Source code is the key component of software. At SonarSource, we enable companies to make this source code an asset rather than a liability,” SonarSource co-founder and CEO Olivier Gaudin said in a statement. “This delivers huge value, especially when you know this is done as part of the development process and requires no extra effort.”
