Austin tech quote of the week

“When patients enroll in a subscription and become a member of an office or group of [dental] offices, they come back for regularly scheduled visits at a higher frequency than non-members. They’re utilizing more dental services. They’re renewing their plan each year and coming back for six-month visits. The platform enables dental professionals to have a more connected experience with their patient because there’s not a third-party insurance company in the middle of them.” — Eric Johnson, Membersy CEO

Membersy pulled in $66M. Operating a platform that allows those without insurance to purchase subscription plans for dental services, Membersy is planning its next stage of growth. With its new investment from Spectrum Equity, Memebersy plans to build out its business across product and marketing. The company aims to make 20 to 30 new hires over the next two years with a large majority of them based in Austin. [Built In Austin]

Grape Network pulled in $1.8M. The company builds decentralized social networking solutions for the blockchain platform, Salana. Grape creates tools to help non-fungible token (NFT) holders prove their ownership of their digital assets. The company just closed on its latest round of funding led by Multicoin Capital and plans to invest it in expanding its team. [Coindesk]

Elligo Health Research secured $135M. Its software connects doctors and hospitals to patients in underrepresented communities to help them participate in clinical trials. Elligo closed on a Series E funding round co-led by Morgan Stanley Expansion Capital and Ally Bridge Group that went toward its acquisition of ClinEdge. The move allows Elligo to offer users additional administrative and technological resources. [Built In Austin]
