Bold Commerce is working to help brands create the transaction experiences of their dreams. The startup enables brands to offer customers the opportunity to purchase their product at the point-of-interest. Today, the Austin- and Winnipeg-based company announced the closure of a $27 million Series B funding round led by OMERS Ventures.

Bold’s platform-agnostic e-commerce solution offers omnichannel retailers and direct-to-consumer brands the ability to extend the transaction capabilities of their platforms with tools for checkout, subscriptions and price rules. It currently works with over 90,000 names across 170 countries including Vera Bradley, Harry Rosen and Humanrace by Pharrell Williams.

“Wherever brands and shoppers interact, Bold will be able to turn that into a shoppable moment,” Yvan Boisjoli, co-founder and CEO of Bold Commerce, said in a statement. “Our goal is to enable retailers and brands to convert shoppers at their highest point of interest, and increasingly that goes beyond the online shopping cart or in-store sales terminal to include product pages, social channels, in store kiosks, connected IoT devices, voice commerce and more.”

The company is aiming to achieve this goal within six months. During 2021, Bold is planning to expand its network of payments, tax, fraud, order fulfillment and marketing partners into a consolidated marketplace of plug-ins and integrations to address all aspects of the transaction experience.

This investment brings Bold’s total equity funding to $44 million. With the fresh cash, the company is planning on adding over 100 new members to its team with roles open in software engineering, sales, marketing and more.
