Pingboard raises $2.5M from investors
Pingboard, an Austin company that makes organizational chart software, raised a $2.5 million seed round on Thursday. Active Capital led the round with participation from existing investor Silverton Partners. Pingboard will use the funding to add 20 hires across engineering, sales and marketing. The company launched in 2013 and is led by CEO Bill Boebel, who previously served as CTO of Rackspace Email and is a co-founder of Capital Factory. [Built In Austin]
Inc. releases best places to work list, with 10 Austin companies shining
Inc. published results from its third annual Best Workplaces survey recently, and 10 Austin companies made this year’s rankings. More than 1,800 companies participated, with 300 companies making the list. Austin tech companies on the list include Arrive Logistics, Embark, Opcity, Peddle, Praetorian, Square Root, Student Loan Genius and The Zebra. [Inc.]
South Korean-based HanAra Software selects Austin for North American headquarters
BNF Technology, a South Korean industrial automation developer, announced this week that its United States subsidiary, HanAra Software, has named Austin its North American headquarters. With an office located in North Austin off Far West Boulevard, HanAra has begun developing a team of sales, marketing and engineering professionals. Infocyte relocates headquarters to Austin
Cybersecurity threat hunting company Infocyte announced this week that it has relocated its headquarters from San Antonio to Austin. The San Antonio location will remain open as Infocyte’s Security Operations Center. Local dockless scooter startup GOAT releases scooters in Austin
After receiving city permits to set up operations, GOAT officially launched its dockless, electric scooter service on the streets of Austin. The Austin-based company is one of the first on-demand scooter companies to play nice with city regulations, separating itself from companies like Bird and Lime. Elligo Health Research recently acquired Austin-based ePatientFinder for its clinical trial exchange platform and referring practice network. Through the acquisition, Elligo Health will now be able to automate its electronic health records data for patient identification and other functions that expedite clinical trials.
