The corporate stereotype of cubicle rows takes a back seat in the offices of companies embracing the startup culture. Open work spaces, collaborative relaxation spots, break rooms as nice as restaurants and additional amenities like ping pong tables and nap nooks have taken over the dull desks, closed executive doors and stark company cafeterias.

Get to know three Austin tech companies who provide their work families with a unique and comfortable home base.

The digital strategy and initiative team from media mogul Condé Nast moved into Austin last spring. Working out of Capital Factory initially, they have since moved into their new Eastside space.

Describing the inside as "Eastside eclectic," the artwork throughout the office comes from Texas-inspired articles from each of Condé Nast's brands. One photo above features the phrase "Make Big Promises And Keep Them" on the wall, representing one of the team's core values

The dog-friendly office contains an open floor concept to foster a dynamic and energizing work hub that encourages collaboration.

The company are scattered throughout the office, with a Self smoothie machine; Glamour’s Women of the Year in the main conference room; covers of iconic celebrities featured in GQ, Wired and W; a selfie light from Allure; neon lights from Teen Vogue; and even a carbon framed bike, branded by Wired.

Founded in the late 1990s, HotSchedules has offices in Atlanta, Sydney, Denver and San Francisco in addition to its Austin headquarters.

Justin Buckley, HotSchedulesVP of global operations, designed the space to not detract from its scenic views, incorporating wood and minimalistic furniture.

Located in the 78730 zip code, HotSchedules employees get to enjoy an open work environment, cool meet-up rooms, plus walking access to the ridge along Lake Austin and Austin's 360 Bridge.

Employees have views of the rolling hills of northwest Austin from every direction, making the office appear much larger than it actually is. They can also choose to work outside on their huge rooftop deck.

In May this year, Main Street Hub opened a new office in the heart of downtown Austin for its 420-plus employees. Located in a high-rise at Congress Avenue and Cesar Chavez Street, the new office takes up two floors and houses the company's sales team.

The space features 360-degree views of downtown Austin, overlooking Lady Bird Lake and the tourist-attracting Congress Bridge that roosts a bat colony of two million Mexican free-tailed bats.

Employees can take advantage of a full service espresso bar, free snacks and drinks, and local beer on tap.

“This new office will give us room to grow over the next couple of years as we continue to serve more and more local businesses around the country," said Andrew Allison and Matt Stuart, co-CEOs.
