Don't be intimidated by how hip East Austin has become. Amidst all the great restaurants and bars is a tech scene that is ready to explode. A huge wave of co-working spaces has already set up shop east of the 35, but companies have been a little slower to plant their roots. While other parts of the city have office spaces and lofts that can easily turn into a swanky startup office, East Austin had an early disadvantage thanks to its infrastructure.
“The East Side is in high demand because of the cool factor, lots of new restaurants and bars, and the close in location," said Justin Bayne, co-founder of commercial real estate agency SkylesBayne. "What’s been most difficult is that there aren’t a lot buildings existing over there that work as office spaces and it’s often even more difficult to find land to build new ones. Basically, there’s a limited supply and an increasing demand.”
