Thermal Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) Virtual Design Development Validation (VDDV) Engineer
Description
Engineer and perform three dimensional (3D) Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulation about fluid flow and heat transfer (thermal management) in ICE passenger vehicle, Hybrid and Battery Electric Vehicle full vehicle and systems including engines, electronic control units (ECUs), electric drive unit (DU), and battery pack, using Star-CCM+, SiemensNX, Teamcenter, and Vismockup tools, for cooling, thermal, and ventilation performance. Use conjugate heat transfer simulations to predict engine, battery pack, DU, coolant lines, exhaust, and turbocharger temperatures and heat rejections, in underhood and underbody environments to assess component temperatures during excursion, city, Davis Dam, Stove Pipe, and idle operating conditions according to GMW14555 Propulsion Cooling and Thermal Performance thermal validation test procedures. Review boundary conditions and conduct CFD analyses to assess and modify the flow characteristics of components to meet design requirements in support of product engineering programs. Provide component- and system-level design recommendations to Design Release Engineers based on interpretation of analysis results.
Additional Description
Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering. Twelve months' experience as Engineer or related. Must have experience with engineering and performing 3D Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulation about fluid flow and heat transfer in passenger vehicle system, using Star-CCM+ and Siemens NX tools, for cooling and thermal performance.
