This role is based remotely but if you live within a 50-mile radius of Warren, MI , you are expected to report to that location three times a week, at minimum.
This job may be eligible for relocation benefits.
General Motors is seeking a Creative Excellence Brand Lead to join our newly formed Creative Excellence team. This pivotal role will champion the brand's creative from inception to execution, ensuring that every campaign resonates with brilliance and authenticity. This will be one of four roles, each embedded in one of our brand teams, Chevrolet, Cadillac, Buick and GMC. They will work with the brand teams day in and day out to elevate our creative output.
Your Mission : The Creative Excellence Brand Lead will drive creative and strategic effectiveness, efficiency, and excellence for the brand. This newly created role will report into the Head of Creative Excellence and join a consultative team working within our brand teams collaborating to drive growth.
GM is on a marketing transformation. Core to our strategy is building our brand power to both retain our loyal drivers and welcome new drivers into the GM family. To strengthen our creative output, we are forming a team with deep knowledge and expertise in the development of business driving, brand building creative work; everything from hunting down the insight that unlocks a core truth, to partnering with our creative agency partners and brand teams as the "creative whisperer", to authoring our inspired strategic briefs, to driving long and short-term outcomes with our creative output across the funnel.
This position requires the ability to embrace and advance the GM marketing vision while driving that vision into immediate business impact for our brand teams, delivering both short- and long-term growth. It will require an ability to lead through influence. And, in no subtle terms, the ability to get stuff done. This role will ask for a specialist mindset, with the ability to go wide where needed. Most importantly, this person should love and embrace change and possibility. Responsibilities include:

  • Insight and Education : In partnership with our research team, develop consumer insights and leverage them to inspire and educate our internal teams and partners.
  • Strategic Briefing : Collaborate with the brand and product marketing teams to translate business needs into inspiring briefs, from articulating clear business outcomes to uncovering insights to aligning stakeholders and delivering powerful creative springboards.
  • Creative Development : In partnership with our creative agencies, develop business driving, brand building creative work. Drive the integration of our strategic goals into our communications strategy.
  • Brand Building : Select, develop, and measure distinctive brand assets that resonate with our audience and reinforce our market presence.
  • Creative Audit and Production : Conduct global creative audits, evaluate agency relationships, and oversee the creative production process to ensure brand consistency and health.


Additional Description
What You'll Need :

  • A bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • At least 8 years of experience in creative and strategic roles, with a proven track record of bringing innovative ideas to life.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to build relationships across a large organization.
  • A strong ability to create and foster cross-functional relationships across business and stakeholders.
  • Experience in managing agency partnerships and a deep understanding of the creative development process.
  • Ability to operate at both a strategic level to align and inspire business owners with marketing strategies and insights, as well as tactically drive the necessary collaboration.
  • Proficiency in content management systems and project management tools, with a knack for working creatively within their frameworks.
  • A strategic thinker with an eye for spotting new opportunities and the agility to act on them.
  • Demonstrated exceptional written & verbal communication skills with ability to communicate & inspire at all levels, including addressing opportunities, risks, & strategic positioning for the brand.


Compensation:

  • The expected base compensation for this role is: ($116,100 - $181,600). Actual base compensation within the identified range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
  • Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
