Job Description
Pensa builds highly scalable cloud-based services in support of our machine learning and data subscription business. We value collaboration, continuous testing, and iterative development models. Our software runs in several IaaS cloud services for production scalability. We use Python as our primary development language, and appreciate a good microservice-based REST architecture.
Responsibilities
As the Sr. Platform Engineer Team Lead, you will:
Lead a team of talented developers in designing, developing, and maintaining efficient, scalable, and resilient RESTful and batch-based services.
Drive the full lifecycle of feature development from concept to delivery, ensuring alignment with UI/UX designs and scalability requirements.
Oversee the implementation of best practices in code quality, testing, and documentation, promoting a culture of technical excellence.
Collaborate closely with Product Management, UX, and cross-functional teams to refine requirements, estimate project scope, and deliver customer-focused solutions.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering their professional growth and development.
Champion architectural best practices for SaaS deployment leveraging AWS or Azure services.
Actively contribute to and promote continuous improvement of development processes and standards.
Requirements
7+ years of experience developing production software, with at least 3 years in a leadership or senior technical role.
Proven track record of successfully delivering SaaS products on AWS or Azure.
Expertise in Python development with hands-on experience in building RESTful services and optimizing SQL queries.
Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and mentor team members.
Experience with Python testing frameworks, web frameworks (e.g., Flask), and client-side JavaScript.
Familiarity with modern ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) and Data Science libraries is a plus.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
